Kerkis Greek Taverna3605 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
Best Greek in Vancouver!!!
Submitted Saturday, May 3, 2008 - 10:28pm [Dine in]

I am a major Greek food fanatic, I have visited almost every Greek restaurant in Vancouver and this is by far my favourite!!

You know how some restaurants something might be good but then other things aren't.. like, ok potatoes but dry chicken.. well everything here is excellent!!

The potatoes are baked in lemon, they are nice and soft. The chicken souvlaki is juicy, big pieces. The tzatziki and pita are really yummy and the greek salad is the best!

I can't rave more about this place. Only down side - it is a little more pricey than most but worth it!!
It is always consistant, excellent Chicken Souvlaki.

This is a huge restaurant, tucked away upstairs amongst some shops off of Broadway/Oak St. The restaurant is quite huge, nice dim lights create a cozy atmosphere, food selection isn't huge but there is a neat option to pick between 'Feather, Fin, Earth...' all representing your protein selection (ie: Tofu, Steak..), which also includes a selection of how it is prepared. Then you choose your sides. 'Carbs' (variations of potato & rice choices) and 'Veg' (variation of vegetable choices)... and these come on a small serving dish that is plenty for two.

So.. if you are a couple going for dinner.. you each pick a protein then you can share one or two of each dish to get a variety. It is fun this way and nice to try a few dishes. The food is reasonably priced (Meat - $6.50-15 & Carbs/Veg - $5-7).

The best thing is that the drinks are cheap!!! Martini's for $3.99!
(everyday)

This place has really yummy food, cheap drinks and a nice ambiance (but quiet because people don't really seem to know about it). I highly recommend it!!

Thai House Restaurant1766 W 7th Avenue, Vancouver
Our Favourite Thai Place!!
Submitted Saturday, May 3, 2008 - 10:12pm [Dine in]

The Thai House is our favourite Thai Restaurant. The Kitsilano location is nice because its a bit quieter. The downtown location on Robson can get really busy and you feel rushed out of there. The Richmond location lacks ambiance and service but the food is still really good.

Overall, the Thai House is excellent.

Our Favourites:

Satay Chicken
Lettuce Wraps
Green Curry
Deep Fried Banana with Mango Ice Cream

Yum Yum Yum!!!

Chao Phraya Thai Restaurant2325 Cambie Street, Vancouver
One of our Neighbourhood Favourites - supporting them through the RAV Line construction
Submitted Saturday, May 3, 2008 - 10:10pm [Dine in]

This is a fairly solid Thai restaurant, food is pretty good, service is really good and its definately better than some Thai places we have been to. Its good but it also isn't the 'best'.

It is in our neighbourhood and also along Cambie (at 7th) where the construction has blocked their view for most of the year but they are still in business.

It is a good place to check out and support during the construction because they are worth keeping around.

Our favourite dishes:

Cashew Chicken & Pinapple Fried Rice

It has a nice ambiance but we usually prefer take out.
