I'm addicted to the Shoyu Ramen with Chicken. I'm trying to limit myself to once a week, but I could easily go more often than that! The staff is also very friendly. A welcome addition to the neighbourhood! The portions are the perfect size - always eat it all, but definitely full after that. For non soup lovers, the Tan Tan Men is a favourite of my lunch mates.

Yummy and friendly

I had a lovely time here last night. Ordered 2 rolls, ebi mayo, and gyoza. Split all three with a friend. Food was really good - high quality - lots of smoked salmon on the vancouver roll. Super delicious ebi mayo. The service was so friendly. We sat at the bar, and the bartender/server was always smiley and willing to chat and answer questions. Add in the $5.00 glass of wine special, and you've got yourself a great night!

I work near this restaurant, and finally went in today to try it. I had the clam chowder. It's really good! Delicious delicate flavour, good texture, and not filled with filler (huge potato chunks). Large bowl for around $5.00 - including roll. Staff was very friendly and prompt. I will definitely be back.

My friends and I had a fabulous time at the dine out. Boys had the butter chicken which they really enjoyed; girls had the prawn malai curry - soo good. Portion looked small, but it was quite filling. Naan was amazing. Samosa appetizers were pretty standard, but the shyam savera (I think that's what I had - spinach, paneer, tomato, yum) was really good. Nothing was too spicy, but I heard their reg. menu is more so. Overall, it was delicious, and a pretty good value at $25. Beautiful restaurant, too - very high ceiling, nice decor.

Yes, it looks nice, but remember, people EAT at restuarants

So, I live one block away from Joey's. I would LOVE to be able to eat there often because of the convenience, but every time I've gone there (maybe 4 times) the service is slow and not knowlegable - they've got about 6 girls waiting around the hostess table, and not one server that can acutually help you! And this was when it hasn't been busy at all. So I haven't been back in about 5 months.

The menu isn't varied enough and the value isn't there either - there are only 2 or 3 items that are under $16 and the portions aren't big enough to justify spending more than that.

Go to Cactus Club one block down - pretty girls, way better service, better value, and more food choices.

Yes, the bathrooms are cool - but not cool enough to make me want to dine at Joey's.

Consistently great

I have been dining at Chianti Cafe for a few years now, and have probably eaten there 20 or more times. The pasta is great - and the other menu items are great - try the seafood salad, it's awesome. I disagree with the other posters that their non-pasta dishes aren't good - I have enjoyed both the veal and the chicken on many occasions. The service is always really friendly and quick - and the restaurant is loyal to their repeat customers. It is a great neighbourhood restaurant. Prices are also very good for what you get, which is great quality food in fairly large portions.
