This is a great restaurant. They serve the highest quality organic and wild meats and fish. For anyone who knows running a restaurant or cafe, would know how tempting it is to get less expensive meats and then marinade or stew it. Not here. They use the best meat money can buy. Not bad for a small restaurant. Ordered a wonderful vegetarian dish and then a cheesecake. I was told by our server that the restaurant makes all dishes, including dessert in house. Will definitely go again. Wine list is well thought out as well.

Decent neighborhood restaurant but no more than that

The food here is classic french but the service is not. The mayonnaise that came with our chips was hardened (not a good sign). When I mentioned this to the server, She replied "That's the way it is supposed to be." Until I complained to someone who turned out to be the owner and She agreed that the mayonnaise was so hard that one could not even stab a chip in it without the chip breaking. As for the food, it was fine but were this restaurant in France, it would be one of the poorer neighbourhood establishments.

We spent six weeks in Vancouver and stayed within walking distance of Kitsilano's 4th Avenue. We were looking forward to Bistrot Bistro but the experience was not good. If there was a 1 and 1/2 rating, we would apply it. The food is quite mediocre given the comparison to classic french dishes. We felt the room was quite atrocious looking without any atmosphere. The chairs were especially uncomfortable with inadequately sized tables. The prices were modest but then so is the quality of the fare.
