Like the veg burrito
Submitted Thursday, March 18, 2010 - 11:14pm [Dine in]

I went there quite a few times recently and I liked the food, especially the veg burrito. It tasted wonderful, and it is a big burrito too. After eating (burrito only no drink), i actually felt quite full.

The staff are nice.

The price is fine.

The place has plenty of room.

Worst food
Submitted Thursday, March 18, 2010 - 11:11pm [Dine in]

This restaurant has the worst food I tried in restaurants. Unless you order big sizes, you basically get nothing more than pure rice. If you want some taste, you have to order big size, the small size not only comes with small portion (which is expected), but also virtually no veg or meat but only rice (totally unexpected.)

This place is awful.

It is also very pricey. No service, this is essentially more like a fast food place.

Going back for sure
Submitted Thursday, March 18, 2010 - 10:50pm [Dine in]

The restaurant is quite new. The same location had a different Greek restaurant several years ago, but was closed. Chatted with the waitress, and this is actually owned by a different owner.

The waitress is very nice. You see her all the time, not like some other places, you rarely see the waitress.

The price is very good too, seriously. It is very outstanding in this surrounding area.

Like the music.

The food is tasty, and the portion is very nice too.

Best presentation
Submitted Sunday, December 27, 2009 - 10:34pm [Dine in]

Best presentation? yes I mean presentation not taste. Each dish is like a piece of art - that's truly how the dishes looked like, not to me, but to the 10+ people of my group. The taste is good too actually - one of the best sushi place in Langley.

The service is kind of poor - but on the other hand might be a good thing, I actually don't like the waitress bothering me too much. But it was a big mess when it comes to the time to pay the bill.

The value is fine - not expansive at all.

This is no Chinese
Submitted Sunday, December 27, 2009 - 10:07pm [Dine in]

What I dislike the most about this place is that, well it is no Chinese at all. Don't know how to cook good Chinese food is one thing, but have no idea of what Chinese food is... that's a totally different matter. There is a big issue with honesty here.

The food is tasteless. Doesn't matter it is more chop sticks or more forks, meaning more Chinese or more western, any way, the food has no taste at all. Very poor Chinese food and is not Chinese at all.

There is no service basically. The feeling I had about the waitress, they are like a bunch of lazy high school chicks trying to make a buck there. Not only that they look high school, they actually gave no service. They are just chatting with each other not far from where you sat. Maybe I can join them and chat as friends, might be fun that way, but view them as waitresses - no, they are no waitresses and have no service at all.

The place is not decorated, simply a room with some tables and chairs - not even those tables and chairs you expect in a restaurant - those are more like tables and chairs in a place like - a library or a school classroom. The atmosphere is not dining place at all.

value, okay it's not expansive, but it is expansive considering the poor food and service.

None of us ever returned
Submitted Sunday, December 27, 2009 - 9:57pm [Dine in]

This place is really close to our office, but nobody in my office ever returned after their first try.

The food has no style or clear definition. The menu is complicated and you have no idea what kind of cuisine they are good at. The food is so so and more close to the bad end. The food is what made all of us wanted to stay away.

There is basically no service, the waitress rarely came around.

The place look like a big empty space - don't give you the feeling of a restaurant. The table and chair are terrible. It was made like a bar with all those tall chairs - very uncomfortable.

White Spot20077 91A Ave, Langley
family favorite
Submitted Sunday, December 27, 2009 - 8:35pm [Dine in]

This is our family favorite. The food is typical white spot, which we liked. Being the closest white spot, no surprise that we go there quite often. I like their beef dipper. The way I look at it, it's a bruger place, but more healthy than Mac.

Service is just so so, but I cannot say it's bad.

The value is pretty good. It's a burger place, and not over charged burger place. Nowadays people can charge you big bucks for a burger, not because they make anythign better, but because they have the guts to charge. White spot is fine talking about price. Pretty much what I expected for a burger place other than Mac.

Environment is fine, typical - not good not bad.

Worst Chinese restaurant in Langley
Submitted Sunday, December 27, 2009 - 4:35pm [Dine in]

The only thing good I can say about the place is their decoration. Unfortunately that's not what I am going to eat.

The ingredient of the food is pretty poor. Take one example, their sea food porridge, all what you can see in the dish is rice and water. If you really want to find out why it is called sea food porridge, dig hard, but well, doesn;t matter how hard you dig, you won't find sea food. This is just oen example, the whole point is that, this is one of those restaurant that makes money by using less real stuff.

The service is poor, and I never saw the waitress smile. You know what, at least pretend that you like your customers, but they don\t bother even to pretend, oh well.

The value is absolutely the worst, among all the restaurants I tried in Langley area. Absolutely pricey, plus like I said above, pricey with not much real stuffs.

Very good experience today
Submitted Thursday, December 24, 2009 - 10:36pm [Dine in]

Went to Chan's for lunch with two of my friends.

One thing I really liked about the place is that they modifies the dish to fit your taste - that's never a problem. One of the dishes we ordered was Singapore noodle, and we requested to make it very hot - no problem at all, when the dish was served, even before we try it, we already smelled the spiciness, wow, that's really something.

The service is always good, and the staff is very friendly, from the owner to every server. If you like it, have some small talk with them - I always appreciate that.

Food usually comes pretty fast and each individual dish is always freshly made.

We had three dishes and end up paying 10 dollars each (there were three of us). The value is high. To be honest, I don't like those Chinese restaurant in Richmond etc - most of them are pricey.

Poor Service, Pricey, not going to return
Submitted Thursday, December 24, 2009 - 10:28pm [Dine in]

We went as a big group, but most of people end up saying that they will never return. Even the organizer of the event said that she won't repeat.

First of all, the place is very pricey. Make things worse, every bit of slightest modification to the menu item costs money, and you are not informed up front. Tip is added by default, so that you have no say whether you like their service ;-(

The service is pretty poor. The poor service not only showed while you are dining there, one of us actually had her bad experience extended to days after. What happened is her credit card got swiped twice and charged twice. When she called back, it took the restaurant long time to fix the issue - well, to be precise, the issue is still not fixed - 4 or 5 days passed already.

The server rarely showed up through the event - that's usually pretty precise sign of bad service.

Food is only so so, which is the main reason why most of us said that they won't repeat.

Certainly not worth the money
Submitted Wednesday, December 23, 2009 - 12:51am [Dine in]

They have this all you can eat option, which absolutely does not worth the money.

The food is very salty and basically have nothing. You can order three things - the most salty chicken noodle soup, cheapest looking vegetable salad, and most salty bread stick. The value is very low. All you can eat?? Well, the soup alone has enough water to stuff you and left no space for anything else. Even if you have a big stomach, all you can do is to stuff it with soup, vegetable, bread and nothing else.

Service is next to poor. I only saw the waitress like three times the entire time I stayed in the restaurant. It's all you can eat - but not the kind that you can take food yourself - you have to order from the waitress. Well, if you even don't see the waitress often, how can you order often and eat all you can?

The space is kind of big but very plain.

Won't repeat.

Best Chinese Food in Langley
Submitted Wednesday, December 23, 2009 - 12:40am [Dine in]

We go to Chan's almost every Friday and they have the best Chinese food in Langley. I am Chinese myself so I know.

Very good value. We usually order 4 dishes for 4 people, and it comes around 40 dollars. The dishes always come with big portions, and 4 dishes are plenty for our whole family.

The food is typical Chinese family style and is very great! The taste is pretty good - always. Delicious, what we usually order is one rice, one noodle, and two meat or vegetable dishes. The dishes are always fresh.

Service is top. The owner and waitresses are very friendly.

The decoration is pretty good. It's more like a family place than a expansively decorated restaurant - so I am not paying for the decoration - that's good.
