Well, I have been going to this place since I was a high school kid. Me and my two friends went in the other day to celebrate that we met each other 10 years ago. I thought about how many loafs of breads I ate with unlimited refill of cokes when we were in grade 10. (we did order entrees so I didn't feel embarrassed) FIVE LOAFS of bread. And until the last loaf and last refill of coke, they still smiled at the end... just wanna thank them for that...
The cream puffs were really cool. Tasted really fresh and the filling were flavourful. I tried the original and green tea. It is really interesting. The funny thing was the puffs were premade so when the customers decide which flavour they want, they would squeeze the filling from a big pot and into the puffs, and they would actually weight it on the scale. Every single one.... pretty weird....
To be honest, after hearing a great deal about Gyoza King, I was a bit disappointed about my lunch visit. The gyozas (pork&veg) were ok. I don't find it very tasty. To me, they were a bit tasteless even. The miso ramen was good though, the soup was tasty and the noodle was perfect. Ordered the Unagi Tamago Don, which was the BBQ eel with egg on rice. The eel was tasty, but there was just a little sauce on the rice, so a bit more sauce would be really nice. And, probably it's because I don't live downtown, I found it a bit overpriced. Overall, nothing spectacular.
I went with my friend around 10 at night for the first time visit. The decor inside was nice and clean. I like the lighting that was goin around the restauant. Got pretty exciting to order something. I ordered the beef brisket soup and my friend ordered fried chicken combo(or something like that). Mine came with the side dish and dessert which was average for me since I was born a taiwanese. Nothng specially really. The service really needs improvements though, the waitresses were actually standing around and chatting. I have no idea whether they are talking about the businese or fooling around, but I definitely did not get the service I expected since they've got all the time to chat. And I actually had to wave down the waitresses to get orders, teas or any services. (Only four tables at that time.) And finally, it's CREDIT CARD WORLD. They don't accept which suprised me. A restaurant this big only accept cash??? guess they don't welcome someone like me who always pay for credit card. Ha! Otherwise, probably will go back just for cheap decent food there.
I've always wondered about Indian food. Then my friend found me this place that I could try all kinds of food with one price. I am pretty happy with the price that it's not overpriced. I love the buttered chicken that it was so buttery and the Naan was really good. I've never tried Indian food, but the flavour definitely satisfy me and my friend for sure. I've heard that lamb Korma was good, too. I'll definitely go try it next time.
I went to the place a couple of times past the year. most recently, I found it very disappointing to the food quality and the service waitresses provided. I ordered kitchen food that were actually overcooked and burned. Don't ever order motoyaki. The restaurant looks busy, and that's probably why I found it very different from the times I had been there in the past few years. The waitresses were no smiles and slow when I asked for service. And somehow, I just think the price isn't worth the food I ordered.
