Fresh fish all around

I was pleasantly surprise upon entering this restaurant as guests are greeted by a large pond containing numerous Koi, I can only imagine what they will look like after 30 years. We were pleasantly greeted by our hostess who quickly directed us to our table. The interior perimeter of the restaurant is surrounded by private eating booths where guests remove their shoes before entering. The service was excellent and my water glass was never empty. The food was outstanding and our order consisted of Edemame, Dynamite rolls, California roll and several pieces of salmon sashimi (sockeye to boot). The food was fresh, full of flavour and arrived quickly. Although our server spoke broken english and had a heavy Japanese accent she nevertheless made an excellent attempt at engaging us in conversation and I found her to be genuine and quite pleasant. Overall, this restaurant was outstanding and I can't wait for my next sushi craving.

A great little hole in the wall

This place represents a fabulous local diner. Portions are large and if you want something to fill your belly, keep you warm during those cold and rainy days and not break the change in your pocket then this place is for you. Whether you are a white collar high roller or a hard working blue collar joe the staff treat everyone the same, warm and decent. Definitely a place to sit back, read the paper and enjoy some damn fine home cooking.

Taste anyone?

The line ups are long and the portions are huge, but somewhere along the line taste got left behind. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for ordering a meal and having left overs for the next week as much as the next guy, but put a little taste back into the mix. I would rather pay for a much smaller serving and have my taste buds excited than receiving a mound of food, but lose all interest in it after only 5 bites.

Burger Heaven Restaurant77 10th Street, New Westminster
Best Burgers In Town
Submitted Saturday, January 21, 2006 - 1:00am [Dine in]

The burgers made here are definitely a piece of heaven. Big, juicy and delicious. Coupled with a heaping pile of home-cut fries and a side of gravy you are looking at one great meal. The best thing about this place is that the walls and tables are decorated with pictures of past customers which gives this place a welcoming feeling. For a burger, fries and pop you're looking at spending between $10-15.00 and it's well worth the price.

For those bargain hunters if you get the Burnaby Now, the restaurant regularly has 2 for 1 coupons so bring a friend and your appetite.
