Thought to myself, oh sweet wok box. I've given them 3 chances and tried different locations as well, absolutely will never go back. For what their serving and what they are charging....it just doesnt add up. I ordered a large take out shrimp and rice, I think there was like one shrimp in the entire box. And the rice tasted like it was in the fridge for a couple days then re-heated. I dont understand how they can mess up this menu, reads good on paper but taste so bland, and not consistent with their servings. Definitely a dream for people with no taste buds, who like boilded cabbage. I think their ingredients are the lowest, cheapest grade possible. Instead of paying aprox $11....their large box was worth maybe $4-5....and thats mostely labour. Never, ever go back.
I can’t get enough of this Piano Bar. Let's face it traveling downtown for the same atmosphere is a once in a blue moon experience. This is a perfect night out with the girls or a couple, for some wine, martinis, hmmm and such amazing appies, had to order the scallops twice in one night. These guys know what they are doing and are constantly looking to improve it. They've managed to capture a high, elegant, sophisticated atmosphere in the heart of Fort Langley. Nice and close for us who live in Walnut Grove. So, far me and the girls have had no service problems.
I have so far not seen or heard of any place even remotely similar outside of Vancouver. Let's face it, most of us definitely want to stay away from the bar scene. If you want to have a great dinner, awesome drinks outside of the city with a mood building environment, then 1827 is the place.
I have been eating here for about 10 years now, a friend originally told me about it and I ended up moving on the same street...how awesome. However, just moved out of the area so no longer in walking distance :( Good news I travel by it usually every day, so at least I can put an order in for pick up. I've tried 2 places in walnut grove....oh dear lord, blah/bland. But kam wah is great value for really good food, the family is supper nice, and very consistant with the dish's. I get what I order with the proper portions. The only complaint I would have was when I first started going there, they are cash only and forgot to tell me over the phone. Other than that one time, over 10 years, they are fantastic and will continue to travel as long as they are still there. I dont like wontons so it works out for me =)
Just moved to the area and tried this place out.....my son could not have said it better. "taste's like nothing" Never, never will I ever eat hear again. It is a place for people with no taste buds, there was nothing to the food. Ordered almond chicken, where are the almonds? Ordered deep fried prawns, the batter was thick and blah. Ordered Prawns/Broccoli/Carrots, got a medly of veggies about 6 or so, was charged $11 and there was mostley bok choy & celery. I think they may have boiled the flavor away. Super expensive for poor food quality and taste.
Its difficult to find a good place in surrey to eat sushi. They are not outstanding or beyond this world, however very consistant. Food good, service good...havent tried the all u can eat, cuz lets face it, for me it would be a waste. The only complaint is not enough soya/wasabe on take out orders, but i know to ask for xtra. I'm gonna go there this afternoon for lunch, cant wait :)
