Ninkazu Japanese Restaurant4231 Hazelbridge Way, #205, Richmond
Outstanding food, classy, and professional 5 star service
Submitted Sunday, February 15, 2009 - 6:00am [Dine in]

I am mostly a big fan of steak and pasta houses based on my previous reviews. I however, do enjoy having Sushi from time to time especially all you can eat ones. I decided to try Ninkazu for Valentines day as I have always heard great things about this restaurant but have never had the opportunity to try till now. This restaurant is packed and the lineups is unbelieveable. You would think that the food was free. Anyways I waited nearly an hour and a half get seated because I didn't have a reservation. The service I would like to comment is the best selling point of this restaurant. I was impressed when I was offered a complimentary soft drink from the manager for the long wait time. Its shocking but that is pure 1st class right there. I have never encountered service from Asian restaurants like that. It Never! This is the 1st. Its the best you can get from an all you can eat Japanese I can almost guarantee that. The staff here seem also to be very professionally trained. I was attented to right away with drinks and tea. My order was promptly placed probably because I waited a long time and my tables were constantly cleared throughout my meal. I was never left alone throughout the meal. The staff here are quite friendly and sincere. It blew me out of the water. The food for an all you can eat is off the charts outstanding. The bbq food actually feels like they are indeed bbq'd. The beef ribs were honey glazed and delicious. The Prawn tempura had plenty of meaty feel and very juicy. The Sashimi presentation is very nice and the spicy sauce is one of a kind. It was sweet, sour, and spicy at the same time. The spicy tuna rolls were also delicious. I could go on and on. .. In terms of price, quality of food, and service I would have to say that the value is right up there. I don't think you could find a better deal anywhere else. Value wise I am sure you will get more then what you paid for. You don't get food and service like that even at higher class restaurants minus the white gloves. The restaurant has king size large tables with a nice window view. Its great to see the bright lights of the outside. The washrooms were sparkly clean and I was just happy to be here. Overall this restaurant is a great experience. For all those years I have been going to Richmond S just for mediocre food and low end service. I should have came to this place earlier. The only drawback I can say about this restaurant is that the waiting regardless I loved the experience here. Since I live in Vancouver I look forward to trying the Vancouver Ninkazu. I would though highly recommend this restaurant. Its one of a kind.

Keg Steakhouse & Bar, The1499 Anderson St., Vancouver
One of the better Kegs

The granville Island Keg Steakhouses is one of the better ones in the franchise because I seem to think that the food & service has a slight edge over the others. The service is quite attentive as the staff seem to be more patient with its customers. I basically had the specials explained to me very well and naturally without the memorization. The food isn't bad as there seems to be more consistency in its cooking. Value wise I believe its well worth the price. Again, moderately priced but not for people on a budget. The ambiance is solid with nice window views.

This is one of the nicer restaurants in Downtown that is moderately priced and won't break the bank yet presentable. The food here actually isn't bad as the it is pretty solid. The portions are quite nice unlike some of the most expensive steak houses that make you pay extra for your side dishes. The wine list is also has decent selection. The service is also solid as you are attentive to when needed as i don't have any complaints there. The ambiance is pretty unique with a stair case that leads up to the wine cellar. Not a bad site. The entire restaurant is kind of in a redish background with dim lighting.

Solid to Outstanding all around

I have been here on many occasions and dine here mostly for dinner. The food is pretty decent as I usually do order the New York Steak for nearly $30. Seems that it used to be better when it first opened like a year and a half ago. The food has kind of slipped since then. The service is actually quite well. The have valet parking available and nice hosts that greet you when you enter. They inform you how long the wait is and you have a choice of either being seated in dining room or the lounge. Either is great. Value wise the food here is kinda pricy. It certainly isn't for people on a budget. I would rate this moderately pricy as it won't break the bank but for the price won't attact a lot of people here either in the economy these days. Ambiance is probably the best of all as it reminds me of hotel dining with dim lights and a semi viewable kitchen. Quite contempary.
