Great Place for Night Out
Submitted Friday, June 19, 2009 - 6:05pm [Dine in]

Went here the other weekend with friends for dinner. The atmosphere was totally awesome. Still got a little taste of old, rustic Gastown but modern decor as well. The food was superb also. We enjoyed sharing every dish. Try their duck breast. Was served slightly cold, but it worked. Oh, the sake selection was good as well. For those who have been to the other Guu spots, this one's got a warmier feel.

It's all about quantity now.

I've frequented this establishment on several occasions. Most of the time by friends' suggestions. My take on this place is you go there for slaps of fish meat, chew, and get out. Everyone whose ever been here knows that service is systematically horrible. They're probably overworked, but still...a smile without the slam on the table would be appreciated. As for the food side of things, it's pretty fresh. That you can't deny. Nothing special about the menu. You go here for value slaps of fish meat - nothing else. As for taste or better dining experience, anywhere else will give you more.

No Food?

PDT is usually a good bet for me whenever I'm in the area and craving fresh bbt. My biggest pp is they don't have any food - again! I was craving their infamous coconut curry chicken, but was told several times that they weren't serving food! Their drinks are still good, for the most part. I heard there's been a change of ownership. Maybe the new owners don't want to serve food? Too bad, cause it was good when it lasted.

Great Dim Sum!
Submitted Tuesday, May 19, 2009 - 1:16pm [Dine in]

I have been to this place several times for their dim sum. It is, by far, one of the best places around town for dim sum. It's a tad more pricey than your average plate dim sum, but well worth it. The selection is magnificent and the dishes are never too salty. Btw, you can order king crabs on the side if you really want that for breakfast-brunch. I've also tried dinner here a couple of times. Compliments to the head chef for keeping in touch with quality ever time!
