"Mom's World Famous Seafood Chowder" @ Shady Island Resturant on @Steveston Landing; 4.5/5 I almost cried when I was done. Then I take a bite into this Shrimp Salad Croissant Sandwich. 5/5 I've found a new fav! Have you ever eaten anything that made u cry afterwards, it was so good? Thats the way I felt about the Shrimp Salad Croissant I just had.
Decent food and humongous portions! A great place to eat Filipino (Chinese-style) if you can't make Filipino food at home or you're just lazy. I really like coming in and having the Chicken Mami soup (Chicken Noodle) with ad appetizer and my wife loves their Topsilog (Fried Beef, Fried Rice, Fried Egg). My family really enjoys their Pancit Miki Bihon (Pan fried noodles). And for dessert, don't forget to leave some room for their Halo-Halo (Shaved ice with beans, condensed milk, and ice cream) or Buko Pandan (Young coconut dessert)
I've been a frequent customer at the Richmond Posh location as it was only a few blocks from where I lived. I've also tried the two other locations in the Lower Mainland (Vanc~Broadway and Bby~Kingsway). Before trying Posh, I've always looked forward to eating Sukiyaki from my previous relationship.
I was visiting Victoria for a few days on a Dr's appt, and I was sick and tired of eating at another Chinese (Western style) buffet. I wanted a change. So i came across a listing online for Posh in Victoria on Fort St. and I thought to myself; "what's the point, if I can have it back home anyway?". It was a toss up between Thai food or Posh. I walked in and the staff was very accommodating. I looked at the menu which was almost entirely different than what I've been used to. They served other types of dishes and they served Ramen! The price of the Sukiyaki was pricier than I had expected and I was told it was because of the quality of the food and the beef that they were using was "Certified Angus Beef", as opposed to "AAA Angus Beef" that they used on the mainland. They also mentioned that price difference was because of the different clientele in the area, which being an avid restaurateur back home, I can understand. Damage was $23.95/person for all you can eat. All I can say is: "It was well worth it and I'd pay that in a heartbeat!". The ingredients were better prepared and they had some ingredients that were not available on the menus at the locations on the mainland. Examples: Inoki Mushrooms, Fresh Halibut, etc... To top it off, the drinks were good as always. I tried the "Tropic Blush" and I had my favorite back home: "Kiwi Blush". I will make this place a mandatory stop for eats next time I'm in Victoria!
"Doug Special" ...its so big you gotta fork and knife it!
Yummy thin crust (non-overcooked) and artichokes on my pizza are a definite plus...service is just a little laggy...
Truly the best Japanese food I have had in my life...I celebrated my birthday there and it was favorite birthday meal ever! The service was excellent and you feel very special when you're there. I had plenty of fun looking at past patrons at the restaurant. It's been a very popular restaurant for many visiting celebrities, musicians, and movie stars. Its worth every dollar and its more than a meal, its an experience!
My girlfriend and I are regulars at this place, we go there at least once almost every other week. Definetely the very best Ramen of Vancouver! We just came back from a trip to Japan and tried their ramen there. When we got back, all we did was crave for the Ramen at Kintaro. The Miso Ramen was what got me hooked the very first time, I recommend this one for first-timers. Shoyo, Shio and the Cheese Ramens are also our favorites.
