Nice Little Place
Submitted Friday, January 15, 2010 - 9:45pm [Dine in]

Had lunch here and overall it was very good. The resteraunt was busy and inside it is fairly open so it can get a bit loud. Ordered quiche and it was very tasty. The service was quick and overall was good. I would go back as there were several good menu options at reasonable prices.

Excellent place for lunch
Submitted Sunday, December 13, 2009 - 4:30pm [Dine in]

Small little cafe that serves very good home made soups and panni's and many other lunch type items that a bakery would offer. The bakery is very good, with a large assortment. They also bake their own bread and make outstanding wedding cakes. There is not much room to sit, so when you go expect that you may not get a spot to sit down right away. Overall a good place to get a healthy home cooked lunch!

Very good experience
Submitted Thursday, September 17, 2009 - 3:49pm [Dine in]

Went to Estrella's due to the high number of positive comments and thought I would add my own. Had lunch there and the home made soup was excellent and so was the panini I had. The ambiance isn't that great, but the food was very good and very filling. I couldn't finish my lunch. When in the area I definately will go back!

Was OK, expected more...wouldn't go back

8 of us went to this restaurant tonight and we all agreed that it was okay, a bit pricey and we would ont recommend or go back. The service was good, they were constantlycoming around offering you different meat, but all in all it was just okay. Nothing outstanding. The salad bar was good, had a variety of food, but each couple spent close to 90.00 and we wished we had gone out for just a nice regular meal and would have left feeling we had a 'really good meal'. If you want to 'pig out' and eat lots and you don't mind the food being average then you wil likely find the value pretty good, but we didn't . Maybe if you were in a smaller group it would be better, but we don't like it when the tip is automatically added and if they ask if you want more 'pop' we didn't think they would charge you for each glass. You do get a chance to try different types of meats. We had three big meat eaters and they too felt it was just okay. The min price for a meal is 29.00. You can NOT order anything less than that, so be prepared to pay 29.00 or 3.00 more for the full meal deal.

Well worth the money!
Submitted Tuesday, August 4, 2009 - 4:13pm [Dine in]

Last night our family went to Me-N-Ed's pizza as my daughter received a coupon for a free pizza on her birthday. What a great experience and the pizza was excellent. They took her in the kitchen and she was able to make her own pizza! At first she wasn't going to, but then she did and was she ever excited. Our pizza was a half and half..can't remember the names...but excellent. Fresh ingredients, the crust was perfect and I would say it was one of the best pizza's I have had in a very long time. The service was good as well. The pizza price is a bit more than other pizza joints, but well wroth the extra money. We will definately be going back!

Left a bit disappointed
Submitted Tuesday, August 4, 2009 - 3:04pm [Dine in]

We visited this restaurant with high expectations and unfortunately left a bit disappointed. The menu was fairly limited, but we both found items we wanted to order. My husband ordered the prime rib and I ordered the halibut. We each had a glass of wine and a shared two appetizers. The Polderside Farms Duck; seasonal fruit chutney and fig-cracked fennel crostini was tasty, but a small portion and the crostini’s were over cooked and tasted burnt. The onion puff pastry was tasty, but also over cooked and we couldn’t finish all of the puff pastry as it was burnt tasting. I found my halibut very tasty and my husband enjoyed his prime rib, but the stuffing was also over cooked to the point that you couldn’t eat it and given the fact that the serving size was small not being able to eat half of your dinner left him disappointed.

The ambiance is average and we found the chairs (rattan) not comfortable at all and we over heard other customers wanting to change their spots because they had to sit on big over sized square cushions that were also not comfortable. The service was good; however, they were pretty busy for a Thursday night and the waitress could have used some help as we had to ask two times to have our water filled and we would have ordered more wine, but were never asked if we wanted another glass.

All in all, we would not go back. The dinner cost over $100.00 and I know we could have spent much less at other restaurants and would have had a more satisfying meal. Note: they did say they were having issues with one of their ovens; however, oven issue aside I felt restaurant lacked a nice relaxing ambience, portions were a tad small and prices a bit high

Very good-definately will go back!

We just finished having lunch and even my very fussy daughters raved about the food! They each ordered lunch box A and we asked for cali rolls to be substituted for the tempura and they did. The gyoza was excellent, all the sushi was fresh and the service was prompt, which was nice especially since it was pretty busy for a Sunday. My husband and I ordered the boat for two and could hardly finish! I would highly recommend, I am sure you will enjoy.

This new sushi restaurant provides excellent service in a nice setting and the sushi was very fresh!! I would highly recommend. Likely the best sushi in Walnut Grove! We ordered combo B and there was pleanty of food! When we arrived there were other customers, but the time we left the place was full. Obviously the word is getting out that this place provides excellent sushi !

Not worth the price
Submitted Thursday, February 19, 2009 - 9:51pm [Dine in]

Went back again to see if the service would be better and if the value for the price would be fair...neither were good. The service was okay, but the value...NOT GOOD:( Four of us went for lunch, and one item we ordered came with three small vegi balls...three SMALL ones! We were the only ones there for lunch, you think they could have at least given us four veggi bags so each of us could get one...I mean the price was over 12.00 for the bowl. All their items are pricey and then on top you have to pay for rice. I mean how much does rice cost...nothing!! Skip this place, the food is tasty but you get great service at Ashoka in downtown langley and they have just as good or better food and they price rice with your mean...rice comes with each dish and they also provide a small bowl of that thin bread. All in all, I will not go back to Kismat...just too frustrating! Too bad, as the food is actually pretty good, but I also value getting value for my $$ and good service is also expected. Kismat...rethink your strategy and you may get more customers.

Once again...very good
Submitted Thursday, February 19, 2009 - 9:46pm [Dine in]

Just got home for another excellent dinner at Ashoka. When we first arrived around 6:30 the place was empty, but an hour later is was full and I can see why. We ordered a mushroom and pea dish, chicken dish and prawn currey dish...all excellent and they come with bowls of rice and the naan bread....also excellent. I have eated at the Indian Rest a few times in Walnut Grove-Kitsmat...also good, but WAY over priced, they don't serve rice or any of that thin flat bread. If you want good indian food...go only to Ashoka!

Excellent Sushi and Very Friendly Service
Submitted Saturday, September 6, 2008 - 9:33pm [Dine in]

There are a lot of sushi resteraunts in Langley and this is an excellent one. The service is very friendly, that alone wants to make you come back! The sushi is fresh and very good. The prices are reasonable and everything that we have ordered has been very good. I can't think of one bad thing to say! The last time we went we couldn't even finish the food that we ordered as the boat for two was enough to feed three and the price was very reasonable. Go and you won't be disappointed.

Very good sized portions
Submitted Saturday, September 6, 2008 - 9:17pm [Dine in]

This was the first time we had visited and were very pleased with the generous portion! Usually the amount of geleto is pretty small, but we ordered three scopes for less than 6.00 and four of us left totaly full! I find getting three scopes and sharing is a far better deal then ordering four separate single scopes. The flabour was excellent and the service was very friendly. Would definately recommend!

Excellent Value and friendly service
Submitted Saturday, September 6, 2008 - 9:12pm [Dine in]

We stumbled across this resteraunt while walking down the Drive. They advertised buffet for $7.99 so we stopped in to see what was included. It is not the type of buffet where you help yourself, the owners kindly showed us what food they had an then they served it up for us. We started with green salad with excellent home made dressing, hummus, baba ghanouj, tabbouleh and pita...all generous portions and very tasty!! That alone was worth the 7.99 They then brought us a huge plate of hot food, which was an assortment of many different dishes. There was chicken, rice, beef, veggies...all large tasty portions.
The owners were very friendly and it overall it was good home made food. The place is very small, nothing fancy...so don't judge a book by its cover; otherwise, you will miss out on a good meal! If I was to rate one bad thing, it was the rice...you could tell it had sat there for a while...but I usually don't even eat rice, so it definately wasn't an issue for me. Oh, we didn't have second helpings as the first portion was more than enough to fill us up...and we were hungry!!
