Elephant Walk Neighbourhood Pub1445 41st Avenue East, Vancouver
Like the name says, neighbourhood pub.

Nice place to come grab a beer (or four) and relax. Good stuff on tap. Not spectacular food, but still decent. Place isn't chic or cool or contemporary or anything, just looks like a regular pub. Waitresses are super nice, especially when trying to settle large group tabs (thank ou thank you thank you). But my one complaint is that the tables are sometimes a little sticky.

Great new addition to the hotel restaurant scene.

Food-wise: Went for dineout with the $15 steak upgrade. Food was made exceptionally well. Served fast and hot. Steak was ordered rare and actually CAME rare. Props to that.

Service-wise: Our server was a really great guy. Always got us water, and checked up on us. He even game us complementary roasted almonds and chocolates when we decided to linger a little longer after the meal.

Ambiance-wise: The restaurant is designed beautifully with a very nice look. The room is actually bigger than it looks from the outside and extends quite far back from the entrance. It can be a tad noisy when its busy, but a busy restaurant is better than an empty one.

Great food, but insanely packed.

Food-wise: The food here is incredibly delicious! Sushi tastes consistently fresh. But actually the cooked food here is what really stands out. Definitely worth a 30min wait or early 5pm dinner.

Service-wise: Great wait-staff who runs the floor really well even in such cramped quarters. Tea consistently filled up. Orders are always correct. The oddity is that you write your own name on the waiting list. However, not too big of an issue. Bit of warning though, make sure your whole group is prepared to be seated or else you lose your spot.

Ambiance-wise: Packed like sardines. Sitting on the bar with two/three people is a nice little spot to eat.

Recommendations: Soft shell crab karrage, Miso eggplant, Black cod

Hello my friend/brother!

Food-wise: Pho is perfect comfort food for our often cloudy and wet region. I usually just get the rare beef pho. Soup base is good and noodles are cooked just right. Just wished there was a bit more noodle. But heck, free first refill of noodle.

Service-wise: Great owner who is a very nice guy. He seems a little over-the-top for the unacquainted. But once you get to know his style, you learn to really appreciate his enthusiasm. He even gave us money to pay for the parking meter once.

Ambiance-wise: Cheesy, but not run-down or anything. Come with your friends or family if just want a nice casual meal.

Great little place
Submitted Monday, February 11, 2008 - 10:56pm [Dine in]

Food-wise: Food portions were not very big, but were still reasonably sized. Food was flavourful and nicely served.

Service-wise: Water was always filled up without anyone asking. Food was served fast and hot. Waiters/waitresses were very nice and accommodating to our large group.

Ambiance-wise: Simply put, outside looks are deceiving. The place isn't chic but is nicely decorated. Small room so it gets noisy. Great for a casual meal.

Recommendations: Green papaya salad
