Very Poor Service
Submitted Friday, December 2, 2011 - 2:39pm [Dine in]

Went here for lunch on a Friday with a friend at about 11:30. Maybe 2 other tables of people. Waitress took forever to seat us, and just threw the menus on the table. Took awhile to get water, and then we finally ordered. It took 45 minutes to get both of our meals. Just naan, butter chicken and rice. People who came in way after us were served 10 minutes before us, with larger meals. Makes no sense. Maybe because they were Indian customers, and we were not??

The food was just okay. Typical naan, on the thick side, with dry rice. The butter chicken was not anything special, with very dry chicken. Ive had far better. How does this place even have good food reviews?

It took another 25 minutes for the waitress to finally come back and take our plates, and another 10 minutes to get our bill, after I asked her for it (even though all she was doing was setting tables)

Overall, mediocre food, with very poor service. Last time I will go here. Its Surrey, and there are a lot of Indian places to choose from, lots far better than this one.

Went here after receiving their menu in the mail several times. Small restaurant, in a dinky area near Price Mart. Two other people in there, a sit was a weekday evening. Simple menu, with few selections. Had the bacon burger. It was quite large, and came with salad and roast potatoes(a change from fries).

The burger was good, nothing amazing, but it filled you up. The potatoes were slightly bland and undercooked, but decent. The salad was simple greens with a balsamic like vinaigrette. Overall the meal was enjoyable for a quick dinner.

The price is definitely the highlight of this place. $20 for two people. Very good.

I honestly do not know if I will return here, but not because of the food. When I go out usually for dinner, I'm looking at a nice evening at a restaurant where you can hang out for an hour and chat. This is a nice place maybe for a quick dinner out or for lunch, but I almost always forget about this place, and doesn't really suit my dining needs. Its not really a full scale restaurant, but its not really a cafe, where you see workers going out for lunch break, I guess it falls under the "Ok I got home late and don't feel like cooking dinner, but don't want to get takeout" category.

My nit picking aside, its a quality little eatery that has food that meets the price, if its the kind of place you want to eat at, at the time being.

Is this the future of restaurants?

Ive been here twice now. The first was long ago, when it first opened, but I can't remember much, but I remember it being disappointing.

Recently I went back for a birthday party. We were seated right away as it was quite early. Got drinks fast, and always had a fresh loaf of bread(the best thing they have), enough for our party of 6.

I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. When I received it I was hugely disappointed. One small piece of chicken thrown on a plate with some watery penne. No garnish, and no presentation at all. I use to never care about presentation, but as I got older I noticed it definitely helps make the dish look more appetizing, and shows some cares been put into the meal. The chicken tasted OK, the pasta just how it looked, flavorless and watered down sauce.

I have tried chicken parmesan at every Italian eatery I've been to, as it is a favorite of mine, and places do it differently. This place is about average, nothing special, with the best at The Old Spaghetti Factory(many say negative things about this place, but I have yet to have a bad experience here). It is $14 at OSF and that comes with soup/salad/bread/meal/drink/icecream. Here, it was $21. Absolutely no justification in the price at all.

The service was decent enough, nothing to really complain about.

Overall, this is just a generic "Italian" restaurant at best. Nothing about it is unique, and has no menu choices that make you want to return. Will not return if I can help it. Ive been to many other restaurants like this, and I sure hope I don't start seeing more and more establishments turn to this mediocre, high priced, bad quality theme.

Seriously, if you want dinner and a movie and were thinking of "West Side Luigis", save some money and go have a better meal at the Old Spaghetti factory.

Very Tastey

I went to this restaurant after seeing it in construction for a few months. The first time I went, it was fairly dead inside, as it was just built, in a newly constructed part of Surrey. You sit down wherever you want, and go up to the till to order. When its ready, someone will bring the food to you.

My favorite is the pulled pork. Its super tender and flavorful. The pulled pork dinner comes with fries/baked potato, beans, corn bread, coleslaw. Its $15, which is kind of steep. Ive also had their pulled pork sandwich which comes with just beans and slaw. It is $9.

My main complaint is that they give the beans and coleslaw in a tiny ketchup container, and a small wedge of corn bread. Its pathetic to be honest. You would think it being a BBQ house, they would give you a larger portion. Its beans and slaw, come on. They do give you a large portion of fries and pulled pork. The fries though, have a really salty seasoning on them, which I ask to not add.

Their BBQ sauce is different, and the first time i tasted it, i disliked it, but after a few tries, yo end up liking it. Their ketchup is more than likely homemade, as it isn't sweet like Heinz.

Really nice decor, good music, and the waiters/waitresses clean the tables up quickly. Ive been on weeknights, when it has been packed and I had to wait, even to sit outside.

Overall its a great place for BBQ. Everything smoked properly, and large portions of meat. The price can be a bit high for some.

Great Food

I saw this place and hadn't heard about it so I held off from going there. Heard great remarks from friends about it, so i decided to try it one day. I ordered a beef donair. They have many other items, but their donairs are most likely the most popular.

The donairs come with lettuce, tomato and onions, and you can get a hot sauce spread, garlic and tzatziki sauce if you wish. It is stuffed inside a pita and wrapped up. The beef isn't the usual kind. Instead of a ground beef loaf, it is almost like a cut up, slow cooked roast.

The beef donair is delicious. Ive tried the chicken one and it is, in my opinion, even better than the beef. Really tender and flavorful. they put enoguh sauce in it to make it taste excellent. The doanirs are fairly large, and go for $6.30 inc tax. It may be a bit much, but its the same price for a sub from subway. And these are much better

You can tell they tried revamping the place. Nice paint, nice flooring, some new tables. The front counter has all it stiles falling apart, and i have not seen an attempt to fix it.

Really fast service, unless there is a line of course. Friendly staff that get you what you want.

I recommend it to anyone. Very good, small restaurant.

Great Langley Restaurant
Submitted Saturday, March 21, 2009 - 10:56pm [Dine in]

I have been going to Andreas for years, and the food is always great. The best value I have ever seen would be the Greek platter. It cost $36, and can easily feed 4 people.

The service is always great. Staff seem to know what their doing, and rarely screw up orders.

The best time to go would be in march, as it is their anniversary. They have a steak special for $9.99, which fills the place up in a hurry. This is about the only time where you have to wait for a table on a Friday evening.

The decor is how you say "outdated", but it fits in with the classic food. The plants are kind of tacky, and the whole place is aging. This place seems to be a favorite hangout for seniors, and I'm usually one of the youngest people there. You cant blame them, because the food is such great value.

Overall this restaurant is a Langley classic, and i will continue to go their for many more years.

Solid Cafeteria Food

This is obviously not a nice sit down restaurant, it is just a concession, and you cant expect the same as you would any other place.

After a day of shopping, I always like to grab something from this place for lunch. The line moves pretty fast, and menu is easy to read. The food is very cheap, and a great value for what you get. A jumbo hotdog and a drink for $2. You cant beat that. The chicken strips are also very good. The pizza is a huge slice. It is usually very good, but after sitting under the lamps all day, it tends to dry out.

Service is very respectable for a concession in a store. They get you what you want, and you pay. Easy as that. I even had a screw up on a whole pizza. I had already paid, so I waited. they gave me my pizza, and also gave me a coupon for a free pizza when i returned. I didn't expect anything, because the mix up wasn't that big of deal.

During lunch time on weekend,s its hard to find a place to sit, but thats ok, you cant complain. The ice ream is also really good, as you can get a sundae, or a cone for $2.

The Costco concession is one of my favorite places to eat some quick food. Its cheap, and the hot dogs are really good. After going there countless times, its a definite place to eat after a day of shopping.
