Cute Restaurant with Good Food and Friendly Service
Submitted Monday, March 23, 2009 - 8:54pm [Dine in]

FOOD >>> Home-style Japanese food. Their rolls are well-made and flavorful. The sashimi is very fresh.

SERVICE >>> Incredible service The owner is extremely friendly. On Halloween, our waitress was dressed as a pirate!

VALUE >>> Great food value. At lunchtime, a filling bento is less than $10. We should definitely visit this place more often!

AMBIANCE >>> Cute decor. The size of the restaurant makes for a cozy dining experience.

Take Sushi4528 Hastings Street, Burnaby
Some of the Best Sushi in Burnaby!
Submitted Monday, March 23, 2009 - 8:42pm [Dine in]

FOOD >>> Food at Take is exceptional! The spicy agedashi tofu comes highly recommended. Their house rolls are all delicious and arrive exquisitely presented. Negitoro (both temaki and rolls) is prepared as it should be: minced extremely fine.

SERVICE >>> Polite and attentive.

VALUE >>> Value is good, exactly the price you'd expect to pay for good Japanese food.

AMBIANCE >>> Extremely average decor... A decidedly not Japanese space renovated with little money into a Japanese restaurant... The sushi bar is cute.

FOOD >>> Food at Stix is fresh and fast! My noodle soup was extremely tasty and filling. Will definitely be back for a second taste.

SERVICE >>> Certainly nothing to write home about... Alright service, nothing out of the ordinary.

VALUE >>> Extremely good. Dinner for a friend and I (2 entrees + 1 appetizer), for less than $25.

AMBIANCE >>> Cafeteria style dining. 'Nuff said.

Foundation, The2301 Main Street, Vancouver
Foundation = Good Eats
Submitted Monday, March 23, 2009 - 8:30pm [Dine in]

FOOD >>> The Foundation never disappoints. Their quirky, vegetarian fare is always a crowd pleaser. We've tried almost everything on the menu, the nachos come highly recommended!

SERVICE >>> While servers are highly enthusiastic, multiple times our orders have been forgotten, either resulting in a long wait for food or no food at all.

VALUE >>> Can't be beaten! Incredible amounts of food for the price of an appetizer at another restaurant.

AMBIANCE >>> The Foundation is hard to miss- it's painted bright lime green. Inside, inspirational quotes adorn the walls and socially responsible rap/hip-hop blares perhaps slightly louder than is necessary.

Tandoori Palace1439 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
We <3 This Place!
Submitted Monday, March 23, 2009 - 8:23pm [Dine in]

FOOD >>> The food at Tandoori Palace is consistently solid. Their baigan masala is very good, as is their Mixed Vegetable curry. The naan is baked right by the till and is always fresh.

SERVICE >>> Service is hit and miss. It depends who is waiting on you- placing phone orders can be especially abrasive.

VALUE >>> Outstanding! We always finish feeling content. Several times we've ordered samosas, and they were unnecessary. Dinner for 2 for $20.

Ambiance >>> If I could give a negative rating, I would. Apparently, all of the money allocated to decor was spent on the flat screen at the back of the restaurant. Take-out is recommended.
