Kodiaks is a very different restaurant. It operates as a fine dining room type restaurant; however it really is the demonstration lab for the food preparation students at the college. In order to learn how to work in the food industry the students actually run a restaurant under the supervision of their instructor. They prepare the menu, cook, serve and do everything else needed.
Because of the academic nature of the situation, Kodiaks is only open for part of the year. In November is is open from 11:30 til 1:30 for lunch. Then, from mid-January til the first week in February and again at the end of February through most of March, dinner is served.
We went on their opening day this fall. We had a fine lunch. We started with warm fresh bread and a selction of home made herbed butters. The cream of chicken soup had lots of chicken meat and was very tasty. We each had a different sandwich and they were both delicious.
The desserts were fancy and innovative. We enjoyed a relaxed and inexpensive meal at Kodiaks and would recommend it as a good place to go.
