Our server could barely pronounce Pad Thai (in fact we weren't even sure what she said) and the dish I got wasn't Pad Thai. It was okay tasting but not Pad Thai. Our server seemed completely out of it and thankfully we saw very little of her. Wouldn't go there again.

I recently went over to Rodos with my wife and must say the there was an improvement from the last time we were there(4 months ago).
Our entrees came as ordered and we did enjoy our meals. However, the other things were still the same with Frankie singing his songs as usual. It just seems odd to have a karoake singer in a Greek Restaurant. Belly Dancing would be appropriate- but not Karoake. Overall, food was good and service was acceptable.

i tried one of their pizza called Angus.(cappicolo, roast beef and fried mixed mushroom)the pizza was finished with peppercorn sauce that gives it a unique taste.i never seen or heard all these pizza in their menu ,so unique and tasty.
100% the best i ever had and i suggest it to every one since they have different pizza for different tastes.hope they stay there and keep the quality.

what a cute little bistro...the sandwiches are overpriced and the bread is not fresh and you get a little side of potato chips..this is to be expected when they do not have a restaurant kitchen. the girls that work there try to be nice, but are very loud to each other and do not look to clean. this place could be a hidden gem if more people would give it a try then perhaps the food would be a little more fresh.

I drive from North Van to Port Moody for Joker's Pizza
By meeks of North Vancouver (8 Reviews)

We happened to be in Port Moody yesterday evening and a friend recommended Joker's Pizza which was around the corner from there home. So we popped by and ordered the Evil Beef (Spicy beef, onion, Italian sausage & tomato sauce). The menu clearly stated 'this is a thin crust pizza' (for those of you that complained about thin crust) which I don't normally care for but thought we'd try it anyways.

I saw they have certificates on the wall from a couple of culinary institutes (don't see that often) and they've apparently won a medal of some sort for culinary excellence. I also noticed the large mixer used for making the pizza dough by hand. When I ordered the pizza they hand pressed the dough and made it on the spot. They had a few orders ahead of mine so I waited about 25 minutes for the pizza - definitely worth waiting for!

It was a spicy pizza but the spice was more about the flavour than the 'heat'. Having grown up in Vancouver where there seems to be a pizza place on every corner THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD IN CANADA! I've already told about 9 people about it since last night, and I'm going back there from North Vancouver with a buddy of mine just so we can experience the flavour again. Definitely a gold mine to have found this place...gold mine...right next to the Golden Spike Pub... ;)

I don't get it.

I've been to Rosa's a few times with a co worker who just adores this restaurant. I personally don't get it, I enjoyed the food but it wasn't anything spectacular. The service is just horrible. You can get away with that if your food makes up for it, it barely does. I thought I was the only one that thought Rosa was rude, but I'm not surprised to see that it's not just me. I feel that she saves all her excitement and good manners for wealthy people and local celebrities. I was there when someone that she preferred came in and her attitude was completely different, I've never seen her speak to anyone so lovingly or politely. Not all of her staff is that bad, some are friendly. But as long as Rosa is the way she is, it won't make much of a difference. My friend argued that these people are on their feet all day and you can't expect them to be cheery, A LOT of restaurants have staff that are on their feet all day and they still are friendly and inviting. I've had rude customers yell and curse at me , but you still have to treat every diner as if they were the first of the day.
This was just my experience though.. others, like my friend, just adore Rosa's.

I have been to this restaurant several times, and just when you think your expectations have been set, the staff, food, and environment continue to exceed your expectations. My first few times there, I had gone with some friends and family, I had used my entertainment book card and had no problems and no fusses. The management team was extremely friendly, and the server had enough confidence that she could have convinced me that I was the president of a small country. Another time I took a first date there, calling in beforehand and making a reservation of course, and I told the staff I'd like the most romantic table in the house, and they purposefully did not sit anyone near us the entire time we ate. When they gave us our bill, they comp'd a bottle of wine and asked if it was ok for tjem to seat people in our area.

For anyone going with a small group of people, ask to be seated in the tent area, it is extremely romantic, private, and a great place to hold any business or birthday funtion.

I just went there for new years and had a FANTASTIC time. The three course meal was mouth watering....The ambiance was great as well as the caliber of people in attendance. This might not necessarily be the best place to bring your small child too, but is probably the best fine dining restaurant I have been to in years! Imagine a trendier Mortons, at half the price, with a more personable staff.

Great Seafood, Nice Place

Recommended. Checked out this place a few days ago as part of a work Christmas function. Nice restaurant, great ambiance, excellent seafood, fantastic view, all nestled away on the Port Moody coastline.

Food - Sampled the Calamari Fries and Sweet Chili Chicken for the appys. The Calamari fries were great! For my main, the Coconut Tiger Shrimp was superb, but a bit on the greasy side. Best part of the meal was the desserts. Sampled almost all the desserts - best ones were the Mocha Ice Cream Pie and Molten Chocolate Brownie!

Service - Although the restaurant was not very busy, we only had one server looking after our table of 13. He was very friendly, and attentive, but not very fast. Orders took quite a while to be taken and fulfilled, and drink refills were slower than expected.

Value & Ambiance - Our lunch was complimentary, but the prices seemed very reasonable. This is definitely a nice place, so a bit more expensive than the average restaurant. Really superb views of the Port Moody coastline, and such beautiful decor on the inside. Love the huge fireplace!

'nuff said.

Food:

Absolutely amazing... The freshness of their sashimi is incredible! Chef's special rolls are original and tastes delicious at the same time! If you're looking for quality sushi, without a doubt this is THE place to go.

Service:

Waitresses & the chef greet you the moment you step in with a welcoming smile. It definitely got my attention and I felt as if I'm their long time customer (today was the first time I've been to this place!). Once you are seated you are never rushed to order! I believe that this place has the potential to make Vancouver's Sushi Dining standards higher, and what surprised me is that I was only in Port Moody.

Value:

Comparing the quality of the food and overall service, price of the food is absolutely well priced. Most of the main rolls and dishes are in $10-$20 line. I was a happy customer in the end :)

Ambiance:

The moment you walk in you notice the modern interior. While I was waiting for the food I never thought of waiting anxiously for the food, instead, I was enjoying the mood and talking to my friends about the place.

Our group of six, ranging from eight to 72, had a great evening. The avogolemono soup is very tasty, the lamb rack was cooked perfectly and was very meaty, and the salmon was tender. Portions were huge, the entertainment was schmalzy friendly and fun, and the service was great. The owner visits each table to ensure all is well. We've been there a half dozen times and have always had a good time.

Tried Sango for the first time at a friend's birthday party a month ago. The menu selection was quite extensive and innovative. In terms of presentation and taste they did very well, but portions and price didn't quite match. I remember our group ordered A LOT but I didn't feel entirely satisfied with the meal. A great location right across from the Thrifty Foods in Port Moody on Ioco Road, so they will cater well to the growing population of the surrounding new area, but it's not a place I would go to on a regular basis unless it was a special occasion for a large group of friends.

Always greeted by the friendly 'aunties' of Lazy Den. The food is amazing. Great for a quick meal for students, and very affordable. Your choice of noodles in meat sauce, sanwiches, or noodle soup WITH bubbletea for just $5!
I absolutely love this place and would recommend it.
Colourful decorations, washroom could be a little cleaner.
You can also call in and order for pickup. Service is excellent and fast!

Ya, it's always crowded. You'll need to bring id with you sometimes when they're too crowded.

Love the atmosphere. The live easy listening singing. The soothing lighting.

Food is good but don't expect to have a full dinner meal like a restaurant since it can be a bit pricy.

Oh, they don't have yam fries.

Burgers are always a safe choice though.

Drinks are good. Had an appletini there, pretty tasty!

Will go back and try something new next time.

Best Sushi Restaurant in Port Moody

If you want melt-in-your-mouth-delicious sushi, coupled with excellent service, ambiance, and value, then Namoo Sushi is your restaurant! I'm so impressed with the restaurant that I had to write a review to tell the world!

By way of background, this restaurant underwent a change in management in the summer of 2009, which resulted in entirely new staff. Therefore, the previous negative review for this restaurant is outdated and not applicable.

Allow me to update you on the present state of affairs:

FOOD: 5 Stars. The food is outstanding! It is always very fresh, and made to order. The sushi is melt-in-your-mouth delicious! The Sushi Master at Namoo Sushi is very detail-oriented and doesn't skip a beat when it comes to preparing high-quality sushi. My favorite roll is the Alaska Roll (i.e., a California Roll with a thin piece of smoked salmon on top - YUMMY!!!) The Lunch Boxes and Dinner Boxes are amazing - they are generously filled with a variety of delicious, fresh, healthy food. My husband, who was previously "not a sushi eater" is now a SUSHI LOVER, all because of Namoo Sushi! This restaurant will make anyone LOVE sushi!

SERVICE: 5 Stars. The staff at Namoo Sushi is excellent! They are all so friendly, pleasant, cheerful, and always smiling! :) They speak English very well and they love to please. There are usually a number of servers working at any given time, so service is very fast. I couldn't ask for anything more!

VALUE: 5 Stars. The value at Namoo Sushi is fantastic! The food is excellent and, yet, fairly inexpensive! For example, a Lunch Box is about $10, which is fairly "standard" in terms of price, but the Lunch Box is packed with so much food that the "bang for the buck" is awesome! If you eat there on an empty stomach, you'll certainly leave there feeling full and happy!

AMBIANCE: 5 Stars. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant! The vibe is peaceful and happy - a great space to relax and recharge. The music is relaxing and pleasant. They often play Latin Jazz music, which is very enjoyable to hear, and matches the elegance and sophistication of the restaurant. The decor is what I would describe as "modern Zen" - simple, yet very elegant and classic. There are a number of tables, and about 3 or 4 "private" booths that seat about 4-6 people (if you want a booth, just ask for one). They also have a large table off to the side that can accommodate about 12-16 people, so it's a great place to hold a business party or birthday party. In fact, I've held both a business party and a birthday party at the restaurant, and I was very happy I did - both went very well! There are beautiful/thought-provoking paintings on the walls, and the color scheme of the restaurant is black, red, and white, which happen to be my favorite colors! The restaurant is very clean. Their plates, teacups, and teapots are all new and very stylish. Overall, I love being in the restaurant!

In conclusion, Namoo Sushi is one of Port Moody's gems. I love Namoo Sushi because it exceeds expectations in every regard! All the 5 stars ratings I gave here reflect the consistent high-quality food/service/value/ambiance I've experienced over the numerous (30+) times I've eaten at the restaurant since the summer of 2009. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I've been here once to try the lunch special based on the reviews and can confirm that it's tasty! For $8.00 i got a very fresh salad, large serving of rice, and some excellent red chicken curry. Overall very fresh and excellent value. I took the food to go, but had a quick glance around the restaurant and it is very clean and comfortable. Would have no hesitation popping in for lunch or dinner with some friends or family. Overall great choice for Port Moody. PS did not find the red curry hot at all - I should have asked for the hot.

This place is fabulous provided you come for one reason - the food! Not a sit in restaurant type. Small, old, but very quaint and fitting for the type of restaurant it is. Food is fabulous and the best, freshest roti I've ever had. Period. But it is a tad pricey ($10.50 for one Goat Roti). If you want excellent take out food and don't mind paying for it, this is the place. Very very nice owner.

The place has a nice feel to it. It's too bad it isn't backed up by really top notch service and value for the money. Our waiter seemed very snooty and abrupt with us. Who knows maybe a bad day, bad night - everyone has one. But it turned us off ever returning! Food was overpriced for what it was. Portions are decent but the taste just didnt justify the price.

Lively Irish Pub

St. James's Well is tucked away rather well in Port Moody, but is almost always packed in the evenings. Not many places serve real English pub food, so this place is a treat.

Food: Pub food is pub food, but you can give some authentic English/Irish good (liver and onions), for better or worse :) It's greasy, and probably not too healthy, but it is filling and tastes good. Drinks are obviously abundant.

Service: Funny how the best service we've received was when the restaurant was packed. If you go for lunch, it tends to be a bit slower. Recovering from hangovers, ladies? Still, it's up to par.

Value: Adequate value for the dollar. Average prices.

Ambiance: No Irish music nor bar brawls when we've been there, but it's one of the few BUSY bars I've been to where I've not felt overwhelmed or annoyed by the noise. The atmosphere is very lively and upbeat. The place has the usual trinkets and decor which mimics an Irish pub.

Overall: A good pub for drinks or a good place to get some real pub food. Bangers and Mash was a winner.

My husband and I chose this restaurant after seeing good reviews here after watching a Food Network show about pad thai - time to satisfy a craving!

The place is small and quaint. Not the best decor, but that's not what counts! The staff were friendly and seemed appreicative we chose their establishment. We started with the fresh lemonade and loved the cool and sweet/tart taste. We ordered spring rolls, a small tom kah gai, and (the main event) chicken and prawn pad thai. Hubby (a pad thai virgin) enjoyed every bite. The soup was spicy and delicious. The spring rolls were crisp and not too greasy. The portions were plentiful enough to feed us both to the brim.

One note: we ordered the food medium-spice since we likeit hot - yeah, might go for mild next time as it seems the definitions differ slightly!

We will definately be back!
