Sachie Sushi is a no frills sushi restaurant in Port Moody.
We've been here a couple of times and the first thing you notice when you walk in is the lack of tables (there's only two table for a total of six seats) and a small sushi bar. It's a husband and wife operation. There seems to be mostly takeout, but we eat in. My daughter likes it because it reminds her of going to Grandma's because the lady is very attentive and kind.
The food selection is not huge compared to other small restaurants but quite big considering there's probably no one in the back kitchen. They had a list of daily specials. We had Teriyaki chicken bowl, Chirashi, a special mushroom dish, miso soup, sake, a spicy scallop roll and other rolls. Portions are small but tastes good (better than big and bland, eh?)
We've checked out other japanese restaurants in the area and this is the only japanese-owned as far as I know.

Once you try Sachie's sushi you'll realize how poor most of the sushi joints in the suburbs really are. Sachie is a Japanese family run business that take a lot of pride in their food.
The restaurant is threadbare. It's very clean, but you get the impression that they didn't put a lot of money into creating an 'authentic eat-in' environment. It makes sense since they're situated below condos, so presumably a lot of people get takeout (and they sure seem to!).
I've been a regular at Sachie Sushi for well over a year and never once been disappointed. The menu is limited since they don't have a kitchen in the back, so if you aren't a big nigiri, sashimi, or maki fan, this won't be for you. If you are, go crazy.
One of their 'daily specials' (it's been a daily special since the first time I walked in) is the Spicy Crunchy roll. It's marinated red tuna in a wide roll (5 pieces total) topped with a special spicy sauce and a little bit of crunchy tempura bits. Absolutely outstanding and I order it every time I'm there.
Their rolls are all excellent - the rice is cooked perfectly (and prepared authentically, if you ever chance to be in there when you see the husband and wife work as a team to manually fan the rice), nori is always crisp and not overpowering, and the seafood itself is absolutely top notch. They carry a few types of fish that you don't see in every sushi restaurant.
If you live anywhere in the Tri-Cities, definitely give them a try. It's not a cheap hole in the wall - it's a premium hole in the wall, with very fair prices given the quality.
