The Point Pub offers four nights of live entertainment, with Karaoke every Tuesday, DJ Frost playing a mix of Top 40, Rock, House Music or whatever you’re in the mood for on Friday and Saturday nights followed on Sunday with our open mic Jam Night. The menu features pub favorites mixed with daily specials and a creative weekly feature sheet as well as daily drink specials.
I've been to the point one other time before but yesterday will probably be my last. I expressed my opinions to management and will point them out in my review below.
Entertainment coupon: We actually came for their Wings Wednesday deal (20 cent for pretty good quality wings) but I brought along the coupon in case we got hungry. The entertainment coupon was for buy one entree, get one entree free. We decided to get one entree and one appy (as well as a few drinks and some wings). I should have asked first because they ended up not honouring our coupon because we had a second appetizer and not an entree. The GM told me this was because they want guests to try different entrees. I don't think this is a valid reason. Appetizers are generally cheaper (although we got the spinach dip which was about the same as our entree) so you would think they would accept a cheaper option since we are still paying the full price of the higher value entree. Technically, we could have asked our server for another entree, which would be considered free. This would mean more work for the kitchen only because they wouldn't honour our coupon. We were full and though we were not pleased with our entire experience before our coupon mishap, we didn't want to be "that" table who used the coupon just to get a free entree.
Service: It was terrible. Our server hardly came to our table and we always had to wave her down to get any service. Our dishes were never cleared (they were taken away by another gentleman who gave us our next food orders). When she gave us the bad news about the coupon, she had a horrible attitude which made us feel awkward and cheap (the other reason I didn't want to order a second entree and get it for free).
I know it sounds silly but the coupon incident is pretty much the reason I would not come back. Their business practices do not make much sense. The service was terrible but I may have still come back because I don't usually expect much from bars. But the attitude that the server gave us in regards to the entertainment coupon made my decision pretty easy.
I would not recommend The Point.
this restaurant was terribly dissapointing.it has gone down hill since it has been taken over.The food quality and appearance was totally unedible not worthy of comsumption?Extremly slow the waitress felt really bad but had no authorization to do any thing about it.Due to new polices we were made to wait untill the new manager arrived where upon he wanted to charge us for food that we did not eat which we did not.We paid for our drinks and left hungry after three hours of our time and were not compensated for in any way?We will never go back.
