Kurumba offers a South East Asian menu inspired by cuisines from China, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia.
This is our second visit to this restaurant and have not been disappointed. The first time hubby and I tried the Kung Pao Chicken, Bean Spout Chop Suey and the Sri Lankan Style Noodles after reading some of the other reviews. On our second visit we decided on the Beef Satay, Thai Style Fried Noodles and the Thai Red Coconut Curry with Prawns. The prawns were absolutely fantastic, lots of them in a beautiful red curry sauce. The noodles were flavourful, even reheated the next day as we had leftovers for dinner. The beef satay came with 4 pieces of deiciously flavoured skewers with a peanut dipping sauce.
We have recommended this place to friends and they have absolutely fallen in love with this restaurant. The service is friendly and welcoming.
We can't wait to go back to try more dishes on the menu.
I was quite excited to learn that there is a Singaporean/Malaysian nearby where I live. I couldn't wait to order from the take out menu.
So, the first chance I got, I ordered Malaysian beef rendang, sambal green bean and hot & sour soup for take out. I was disappointed in the size of the main order (beef rendang), for a large size, it only fills 1/2 of an aluminum container. The large hot & sour soup got a larger container than the beef rendang.
The beef was hard and chewy; not what I expected for a beef rendang. The green bean were overcooked and
I've had Sumatran Beef Rendang that are far better than what they prepared.
