Joe's Atlantic Grills serves Canadian Maritime style comfort food in a relaxed atmosphere.
We brought a group of 27 to Joe's in June "Just Because". I had met Joe at a community event and he encouraged us to come check out his restaurant. He provided us the full East Coast experience......appetizers, Screech shooters, Kissing the Cod, and his Maritime Band. We had a surprisingly good time. He kept the appies coming until everyone was stuffed full. Not a fancy place, but a fun place. Enjoy!
I had met the restaurant proprietor Mac on several occasions and had enjoyed both breakfast and lunch events with friends as well as with 25 cyclists from VBMG when we attended for a ride and meal stop. Mac and his staff are a friendly warm team of people who make you feel welcome from the start and the food is excellent.
I decided to choose Joe's as a place to do a Ride to Conquer Cancer fundraising event for my team and organized with Mac a DJ band, Maritime singer, along with a wonderful buffet dinner for 40 guests. The fundraiser from start to finish was a blast! We raised alot of money and sold out the event. The music by both his Maritime pal Jim as well as the DJ duo of EachOther provided all 40 of us with good music and along with the buffet dinner - roast beef, salmon, chicken, potatoes, salads, gravy, rolls and amazing vegetarian meals for the special folks, it was a truly fun and amazing night.
The atmosphere of Joe's is small but comfortable and welcoming and I highly recommend anyone going there to eat or to fundraise.
I will be returning many times to see Mac and his lovely team and enjoy more Maritime music and kissing the cod with a Screech in!
I come here regularly for the delicious breakfasts and great evening entertainment. The food at night is very good and the live music is a big plus. If you like value and a place not to busy this is a wonderful spot. Seafood is awesome and the free wifi works well. Feels light home the East Coasters say.
I went here last night and man was it In Incredible, the Mssels from PEI were of the chart , some sort of white wine Fennel sauce , all I have to say is give me the recipe!!!! For our main event my buddy ordered the Fish and Chips, he ranked them a high nine out of ten, good TARTER TOO, I ordered the Haddock, I must say this main was delicious as well as frugaliciuos, we finished off with some bread pudding and a couple shots of screeeech. Mac the owner was also very hospitible and entertaining. we will be back!!! Thanks for the great evening Joes.
I have been to Joe's quite a few times now, and the breakfast is outstanding, in taste and value. The eggs benedict is always perfectly cooked, and I have never had better pan fries (hashbrowns) anywhere. At $8.95, a great value too!!
I love that Mac the owner is so friendly. I feel right at home here, and it is a great place to go after a night out!!
I have been by on a Friday night as well, and there is usually a great jam session, I am told this is a Maritime Kitchen Party, but all the westcoast girl knows is that its FUN! It's also a great night to have all you can eat fish and chips. Chips crispy, fish was perfectly fried with a light batter, not greasy.
I am won over by Mac and the home cooked food, and will be going back soon!
Wonderful comfort food; generous portions! Friendly and personalised service!! The owner, Mac, greets you with smiles and jokes. Sunday afternoon jam sessions are fun and ecclectic... and you can actually bring the kids, too! Very inviting to make yourself at home. No matter how far you've travelled, you can't remain a stranger here for long. :) Fresh Maritime fare, good company, and laid-back atmosphere. Come and sing a tune or two... it won't go amiss! :)
We went here on a Saturday afternoon and had the best seafood chowder. The fish an chips were great too, but the friendly atmosphere topped it off. On the first Saturday of each month there is what Newfoundlanders call, a 'screech in' where you kiss the Cod, have a drink and enjoy a classic kitchen Party. Mac is the owner, and I knew this after my first visit. check it out in Old Port Moody
If you want a decent, quick meal at a decent price, Joe's Atlantic Grill can provide it. You won't find fancy menu items, and the calorie and carb count will be pretty high, but the food is best described as comfort food - like Grandma used to make.
I walked in the door, and to my left was a fish tank with dead fish in it. I waited 45 mins for my food with no refills on my coffee. A gentleman who works in the restaurant joined me at my table and introduced himself as the owner. I had my newspaper with me, and the gentleman did not go away. He continued to talk to me about what his business is about and the things they do. When my food finally came it was extremely oversalted, when I complained, the owner ate off my plate, did not take my plate, went into the kitchen and yell at the staff member. His language was atrocious, and very audible in the dining room. When the owner came out of the kitchen, he came to my table, and gave me my bill with an apology. I did not pay my bill, and I will never go back
