Chomp is a local cozy cafe serving 100% gluten-free and vegan menu items, sweets, and more.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed the poutine, chili and grill cheese madness! Grill cheese was a bit small but all the gluten free bread i have had tends to be on the smaller side... still filled me up though. Loved the decor (all the local artwork and the mismatched furniture, etc) and the staff was knowledgable and nice! Will definetely be back when I am in the area again!
Food 7/10 Had the vegan and gluten free mac and cheese, with a side of vegan toast. Toast was good, top layer of the mac and cheese was really great, but the noodles underneath were a little tasteless and bland. Definately needed something to jazz up the rest of the dish
Service 8/10 Friendly welcome, quality check, asked about drink refill, but didn't tell me about the daily special chick pea stew, saw it on a sign at the register when I was paying
Value 7/10 $9.22 for the smallish portion, but vegan cheese and gluten free pasta is more expensive so I understand
Ambiance 3/10 Maybe I just dont get the whole concept, but four tables with a total of 12 chairs plus two bar stools all different, random art, kids things all over the place. It's not that it doesn't fit the new snooty Port Moody vibe but that its just genuinely, in my opinion, uncomfortable and awkward
I'll continue to walk by when in the neighbourhood, but probably wont go back to try anything else unless I see a comfortable table and chair to sit at
