Eat. Drink. Cheers.
The Burrard Public House is dedicated to restoring the glory of the original Burrard Hotel, from 1938, by bringing quality food and drinks back to Port Moody. Our passion for food and cocktails is ever present on our plates and in our glasses. Our team is always looking at innovation and trends to offer you the best in wines, cocktails, craft beers, and fine spirits.
It is the people though, that help to truly define us as a Public House. We want to be a landmark in our community as much as we want our guests to be a part of us.
They have reinvented this place and it's a bit more upscale. The food was the usual pub grub and it was pretty good. However, like a lot of the renovated pubs, it's a bit pricey. The waitress was pleasant, pretty, very social and conversational. But she was forgetful. She got one order totally wrong, partially botched another and was not attentive. That's somewhat acceptable if they're busy but it was a slow night. Frankly, none of that bothers me too much except for the important part. Would I return? Maybe, if I was in the area looking for a beer and appy and part of the hockey game, but for an evening with a group, for dinner, with so much competition, it's doubtful.
I kept hearing great things about the newly opened Burrard Public House and have been meaning to give it a try. Located in the former Jake's Crossing, it's on St. John's in Port Moody, with a great view of the mountains. We were there on a sunny afternoon, so we were able to take advantage of their nice patio deck, which is covered, has that great view, nice furniture, and beautiful hanging baskets.
Our server was friendly and efficient. The drink list is quite extensive (gluen free beer!), so it's pretty easy to please everyone. Menu also had quite a bit of variety, including brunch options. We ordered the club sandwich for splitting, and it arrived on two separate plates, no problem (see photo). The club sandwich was fabulous - big slab of grilled chicken, thick & tasty bacon, just the right amount of perfectly melted cheese. Yam fries were delish.
Though we ate outside, I have to mention the decor of this place. Gorgeous, upscale, urban. They've done an absolutely fantastic job in their renos. The place looks bright and sophisticated, right down to the bathrooms! Very impressed.
Overall, we loved it, and will definitely be coming back.
I have been to The Burrard twice. The renovations are quite beautiful inside & the staff is friendly & polite. The food was good, but I found it over priced for what you got.. Id go back for a few beer, but I like to eat @ places with better value.
