A slightly up-market Chinese restaurant on Lougheed in PoCo. A local favourite.
I came here for dinner. The ginger beef is good as well the spicy green bean. Overall everything is good and recommended. It was my friend's birthday. The most impressive thing was the waiter who came out and sang for us providing a comfortable environment. Great job! I'll definitely come back.
good food. going to try the dim sum next time I go. Some of the lunch special items were borderline like the lemon chicken and chicken with cabbage. Lemon chicken, the batter did not seem cooked and the chicken with cabbage dish was too salty. Love the hot and sour soup.
We have come here for many years even when it had a different name more than a dozen years ago.
Authentic Szechuan is the main thing here. This restaurant is consistently good every time we go. The service was quick, attentive and professional. The standard lunch has been $8.95 for many years. Definite value for money.
Our first impression was great - clean & classy. Background music is appropriate and the whole decor just seems to "fit".
We ordered wonton soup and pork spring rolls as appetizers, and two beef entrees.
Appetizers arrived promptly, and tasted delicious. The wonton soup was HUGE! The main meals arrived very shortly after the appetizers, which was surprising considering the very large menu. Both of us enjoyed our meals, and had lots packed to go.
Serving staff was excellent - dressed well, good English skills, friendly, polite & sociable. Their timing on everything was perfect - from taking the orders to bringing the bill. They would walk by our table casually and wait until we were finished our conversation to ask if we wanted the meals packed to go.
Very good value for the money. We will be going back.
I have gone to this place before and had decent food, so when I had out of town visitors I reserved two tables for my family. Some dish was salty, others had no salt giving no taste. The next day I did a check on my ordered dishes and discovered they over charge me by $126. Not only do they produce bad foods, but you will need to check your bill before you pay
Do not go here..there are many better restaurant in area.
We wanted to try a new Chinese food restaurant, so we heard some good things about Wah Wing. Boy were those other reviews wrong. We got Sweet and Sour Pork, House Chow Mein and Chicken in Black Bean Sauce. First, the chow mein was soaked in sesame oil, no taste what-so-ever! Second, the sweet and sour pork (usually a staple in Chinese food around here) was chewy and bitter not sweet or sour. Third, the black bean sauce also tasted like sesame oil. How does that happen?!?!
We will never eat here again, 3 strikes and your OUT!!! Oh and the food was fairly expensive too. Just a heads up if you wanted to experiment...
