I went to this Quiznos today, as I was craving a sub. They have Everyday Value Subs, $5 for a large sub, which is pretty good, considering there was a time when their large subs were about $9.
I ordered the large 5 meat stack. Can't really remember what the meats were, as the amount of meat was nearly non-existant. I had the nerve to ask the middle aged lady behind the counter to put extra onions on my sub. She looked at me incrediously and said that it didn't come with any onions. She then proceeded to lecture about how since I was getting such a good "deal" on a $5 sub, I could not get onions on my sub. The woman ahead of me asked for onions on her tuna sub and she got some onions - about 4 very thin slices, each slice about an inch in length. Apparently a few slivers of red onion really cut into their profit margin. You also don't get any of those little pickled peppers either - it is a $5 sub after all.
The sub tasted good, but basically all I got was toasted bread, 3 slices of tomtatoes, some lettuce, a thin slice of cheddar cheese, and about 65 g of meat (the same amount of meat in one of those Carl Buddig deli slices packages).
I've been in there a few times and I always see the owner there (he is the middle aged Russian?? guy). I have yet to see him ever smile or even say thank you to any of the customers for visiting his establishment. He needs to lighten up a bit. I suspect he was none to happy when Quiznos Corporate decided to lower the prices on their subs. When a large sub used to retail for $9 and now sells for $6, I guess he has a reason to be upset. Then again, I don't think I ever saw him smile when the prices were high either.
Oh well, what do you expect for $5? Apparently not any "unauthorized" onions.
I went to Quiznos for my $9.00 BBQ chicken sub and asked if I could get tomatoes on it ,the middle aged lady told me she would have to add $.50 for two slices of tomatoes.
For already a pricey sub you would think they could add two tomatoes slices.
I told her not to worry about it ,but I won't go back .
