Been here a few times now and the samosas are certainly amazing. They have a very crispy shell, not at all oily and have a centre that is unlike any other samosa I have tried elsewhere.
I have tried some other snacks from here and they too are wonderful. This place really is take out. You have to wait a bit to get your food as they prepare everything fresh, though is worth the wait.
It is a hole in the wall, though if put that aside and just go home and eat this food you will not be disappointed. This comes from someone that is East Indian also!
2 Samosa's for a $1. Good cheap lunch/snack well not as cheap as Little India (Fraser St. in Vancouver) but still pretty good.
So far I've only tried the Veggie Samosas, Tikki (similar to the samosas) and Chicken Naan.
I'm willing to go back for more and try some of the curries when I have time. I'm not big on the sweets overall so I have not tried them here.
BTW: It's pretty much take out only so I've rated the ambiance a poor. If I remember correctly, there's one or two ssmall table there?
Worst indian food ever!! The curry lamb is nothing more then a few pieces of dry meat (maybe lamb?) in a soup of curry sauce. $10 for that. The butter chicken is similar - dry pieces of chicken in a soup they call sauce.
Of course they do specialize in sweets so my advise would be to stick with what they are good at. (Don't know because i've never tried those.)
Keep trying this place because its so close but think i'll give up now.
I highly recommend the Butter Chicken and the Goat Curry dishes.
The samosas are excellent and freshly made. The Biryani dishes are very tasty except they lack meats.
The sweets are very addictive and rich.
A family run business with a sweet tooth.
Tell Harbans (owner), Tom sends you here.
I will always call to place orders for pick-up, in order to give them time to prepare your dishes.
This place has very tasty food. I lived in London, UK where I had consistently amazing Indian food and Mumbai Sweets place has some of the tastiest Indian food I've found in Canada (with the exeption of the Indian Oven in Kitsilano). Only trouble is, last time we went, we ordered in the 'restaurant' and waited 45 minutes -- and the interior doesn't make it a place you want to spend much time in.
