KC's Cafe serves up casual diner fare - home cooking at it's best.
KC Cafe is where I head often on weekends for late breakfasts or lunches. Very good food, great prices, tons of options and just a genuine great atmosphere largely due to the owner (whom serves/runs the front) knows people by names and stays to chat plus like previously mentioned....is very nice to look at haha :)
I really like the friendly attitude of the owner and his girlfriend. They both provide very good and attentive service, and are both extremely charming and good looking. Eye candy never hurts, never mind the fact that I am old enough to be their mother.
Looking around at the clientele, I notice many women in the 40-55 category who similarly seem to be enjoying the view.
The food is good solid breakfast food. I usually get the Eggs Blackstone, which is always soft poached as specified, tomato is fresh and the bacon and sauce are done well.
The hasbrowns are ok, but I would personally prefer them jazzed up a bit with some green onion, spices, and maybe not deep fried.
Coffee is good.
Definitely will be returning regularly.
We'd been looking for a while for a good breakfast place in Poco. Went to a couple places that were ok, then we found KC's. It's now our 'go-to' weekend breakfast spot. It's family run, with very friendly service. Always chatty and personal, they remember who you are. The food is great too. They have everything you could think of for breakfast and it's cooked just right.
I've been going to this cafe for about 6 months now. It's just been recently taken over by a new owner. I forget her name, but she is very nice and is the hostess/server there.
I've only ever ordered the hungry man's breakfast there. It comes with 3 eggs, 3 strips of bacon, 3 sausage links, home fries and toast for $8.95. I always get my eggs over easy and usually sub all sausage. The eggs are always cooked to perfection and the home fries are crunchy and tasty.
Service there is efficient and the owner/server knows me now, so it's always "the usual?", when I walk in the door. I like that in a restaurant that they know what you like.
Ambiance is typical diner with booths, etc. the owner just recently remodelled the inside so that it's looking a lot brighter and less cluttered now.
After tax and tip my breakfast comes to about $11, which is a bit on the pricey side, but I usually eat there once a week or once every two weeks and get my breakfast fix that way. This place offers solid food that tastes homemade with an owner that seems to care about her customers.
I'd recommend this place for sure. It's only open breakfast and lunch, closes around 4 pm everyday and closed on Mondays.
Nice little old fashioned Cafe with good coffee, Bacon and Eggs, omelettes or whatever you desire for Breakfast at a reasonable price. I think they are open for lunch as well! The place is run by the owner and the quality shows!
I've been moving to Port Coquitlam just over a year. Read the newspaper about this place that was voted #1. On Sunday morning, I went with my sons around 1pm. Little place but packed. Really friendly service. The food and service is attentive and fast. Food was really home-cooking which morelike comfort food. (That's what I wanted too). The ambience was outdated but the food definitely made it up. The value was ok for a small restaurant like this, but acceptable. Good place for a quick breakfast/lunch. Like the feeling the staff services the customers. Nice pllace definitely gonna be returning.
Came here with my mom two weeks ago. It's a typical small-sized diner, very clean and welcoming. The owner is very friendly and attentive, and will stay at your table to chat for a bit. We had a 2-2-2 breakfast and a Hawaiian burger (which came with a *huge* side salad). I also saw that they have really hearty-looking soups. Food was pretty good, and they buy their products from the farm market that's right next door, so you know everything is fresh. A sneak peak into the kitchen looks clean and organized as well. Great place to come by once in a while.
It doesn't look like much from outside, but KC's Cafe is actually a nice little diner.
The food was good, if nothing spectacular; country breakfast and lunch. I enjoyed my eggs blackstone and coffee. (The coffee was surprisingly good, I should note; I didn't feel the need to hide it under sugar and cream, as is often the case at small breakfast joints.)
The country diner ambiance inside a strip mall shop is an interesting idea, and it actually works fairly well. Music is present but not intrusive. The place feels warm and inviting. The service was excellent; friendly and fast. I'd definitely go back again if I were in the area.
If you haven't been to KC's since August 2007, it is time to return. The new owner cares and it shows. I felt welcome and treated like a regular plus the breakfast was decent foor for a decent price. I hope I'm not too busy to make this place will be my new weekly habit. The customers coming and going were all smiling.
