Kandoo is a Persian restaurant, bakery and grocery store all combined into one. It is famous for their delicious sweets one-of-a-kind sweets and their sizzling kabob platters.
Hi all,
Whenever you purchace some thing from Kandoo, pay attention to the expiry date. I bought dried Kashk yesterday and did not pay attention. When I left the store I realized thyat it was expired in April 2003.
When I called them they did not even want to talk.
SO BAD!!!
My aunt used to work in the kitchen. She told me that nothing is fresh.
I go here with family all the time, and recently there has been a management change. I think its a wife and husband that have taken over the place.
It looks a lot better. They have new table covers and it has brought up the restaurant a bit.
The food is still priced the same, yet Im guessing it might go up or down depending on what the new management wants to do.
We ordered the chicken soltani, and it was AMAZING. The chicken was melt in your mouth good and the ground beef kabob although a bit on the greasy side, was just as good.
for an appetizer we got the eggplant dip after our server reccomended it to us. If you have never tried it please do!
As for the service, since we always go there on a regular basis we have been served by almost all the waitressing staff at least once. They are all really nice especially two named Sepee and Sahara i think. They really take the time to explain everything ont he menu and even brought us samples to try out.
Last time we went here was this one girl though who couldnt speak english at all, and was very rude. It took us forever to get our drinks and she ended up forgetting to bring us our yogurt dip that we had ordered for our appetizer. So definitely if you go there stay away from her or else your experience wont go as good as ours did.
We were looking for a nice persian restaurant closer to our home. We have search the internet and found Kandoo. The ambiance is outstanding, the price is pretty good. We ordered the special combo for two, we got two kobideeh, two skewers of chicken ( with bone and debone). The rice is pretty good as well.
Food:
Great to have Persian food in POCO. It was very tasty, but definitely on the oily side. My plate was full of oil at the end of the meal, and I felt like I had just eaten two big macs. The taste and quantity was great though.
Service: I would have put exceptional, but they took forever to bring the bill. Otherwise it was great.
Ambiance: Its nice and clean, but out table was a little too bright, and there is still work that is needed to be done. Perhaps some plants, and better lighting would help.
