Came in after a business meeting with a co worker. We had some wine. At over 10 a glass for the cheapest 9 oz it was pricy. I would also like the liquor inspector go in and check the volumes as the 9 oz glasses were 6 at best. I guess the 6 oz ones are 3?

We had a spinach and feta dip to share. It was $11 and consisited of 1/2 c of gloppy unattractive green hot dip with chunks of feta cheese in it. It was actually gross. It came with a few slices of thin baguette that were so full of holes, there was barely any bread.

SHe had a pasta that was very overpriced for about $20. She was very disappointed. I had the curry but subbed prawns for the chicken. It was $18 and I got FOUR miniscule prawns. They didn't even take the tails off and they were swimming in the sauce. It's so gross to have to dig though a sauce to take off prawn tails. The curry was not a typical high end curry. That would be very flavourful and rich. This was a real thin, liquidly runny Indian curry that was VERY hot. I like spicy food but I think a lot of people would find this way too much. It was not like a high end restaurant curry but a take out Indian place on Main street, where this would cost only a few dollars. It would have been fine if that's what I had wanted but it was not at all what I expected from Earls. It came with "coconut" rice which tasted just like plain basmati. No coconut I could tell. The Naan bread was good. There was no chutney or anything to make it more flavourful or upscale.

With tax our dinner came to close to $100. Way too much. I could get a much better meal elsewhere for 1/2 the price.

THe other odd thing was the number of children in there. Earls makes it very clear they do not want kids as they have no high chairs or kid's menu. There were at least 7 kids there plus a couple walked in with a new baby and no car seat and they had to sit in a booth and hold the baby. They ordered a drink but shortly after gave up and walked out. DOn't blame them. Wish I had.

Too Expensive for what you get

Went on a hot sunny Saturday night. We walked right in and got a booth on the patio at 7 pm. I think that says alot. I remember when you used to have to wait an hour or more to sit anywhere at an Earls, especially on a Saturday night.

Waitresses were from the robotic "little black dress" store that cactus club, etc shops for their waitresses too. No personality in any of them. Plastic.

Had an artichoke dip that was served with toasty things and was pretty good but small. They did offer more toasty things though we didn't need them as the dip serving was small for over $10. Beer was very expensive at over $7.50. Wine was not well priced either.

Had a seafood pasta with very miniscule pieces of crab and seafood. It was over $19 - just too much for pasta.

Can't even remember what my partner had as it was not memorable to me or him. He did think it was overpriced as well. Got out for just under $140. Basically a waste of money. I could have prepared the same meal and drinks at home for about $25. I don't plan on a return,

Earl's in Port Coquitlam is an excellent restaurant and well worth a visit. The food is superb. Of particular note is the Thai noodle salad with chicken. You get a large portion and the dish is most savory. Earl's Bigger Burger is also excellent. The prices are fair and the service is attentive and friendly. Overall, this is a lovely restaurant and is recommended without reservation.

Came here last night for a friend's birthday, and I felt ripped off. We ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies... wow, it was terrible. For $20 the amount they gave was laughable. The chicken was about the size of the palm of my hand, and I'm a pretty small woman. The "grilled veggies" were two grape tomatoes and a tiny pepper... and the mashed potatoes were about the size of a small tea cup. Really? In addition, I ordered a sangria and I could barely taste any alcohol in it.Thank you Earl's... you made it easy for me to say I'll never come back here again.

This Earl's impressed me...

The service was just one notch below 5 star... Not typical of my previous visits to other Earls... The only thing they lacked was the re-pouring of my wine.

The server was REALLY attentive but not annoying.. She was knowledgeable and suggestive without being pushy...

We had a martini each to start followed by a bottle of wine. Each were fairly priced (wine priced slightly over double retail which is fair).

We had Chicken taco's to start and they were delicious.

My wife had a Mediterranean Pasta with prawns, and I had the half rack of ribs and chicken... They gladly substituted garlic mashed and veggies for me as I didn't feel like warm potato salad and coleslaw. Both entrees were fantastic! They nailed the "casual dining" both for prices and food quality.

Dessert was New York Cheesecake w/blue berries and it was perfect!

We WILL return...

Pleasant room, nice servers, clean washrooms & ez parking.
The menu changes from time to time. My fave right now are the taco appies / entree.
Wings on Wednesday shouldnt be missed. The pizzas from the tandoori are always good.
Earl's offers great soups, so always ask what their feature is. My favourites are the tomato soups and the mushroom soups. I wonder if they ever make muligatawny?

Always a pleasure dining here! The food is wonderful and the prices seemed reasonable. Servers are very friendly and energetic. It's a great place to dine or just relax with friends. They do have fine choices of appetizers!

A favorite of most of my buds, Earls is a delightful place! Their menu is available online and everything is always available, it's too bad that they are sooo expensive we cannot go more. But of course we men know the value is there. And I didnt want any kidz around and there were none around. This was after Christmas and I had my bonus so we headed out to enjoy once again. My meal this time consisted of two large pieces of tender crusted fish, salad, and I ordered beer. I was not hard pressed to eat it all. The service was fast and professional, and the ladies were in short short skirts that we love. My meal cost about $27 without the tips of which I like to leave a lot because the waitresses are just so thin, tall and friendly. 15% all the way. I will be back, definitely!

i usually come here for the drink specials and service is not bad
a lot of the times i go, they do seem to talk a lot amongst themselves but they usually check up on us a few times during the night so i'm not complaining
the food is tasty but a little on the expensive side... but not too bad
and the daily drink specials make up for the food being pricier
fun place to hang out with friends or for a casual date

OK food, OK service, nothing special

Food:
The West Coast Prawn Salad was decent. Large portion and quite filling for salad. The Hickory Back Ribs & Cajun Chicken Combo (Full) was VERY large and could definitely be shared. The chicken was great, although it was a little salty. The back ribs were standard and nothing special. The Earl sized Clam Chowder was delicious as usual though.

Service:
Young waiters/waitresses. A little fake at times but overall a good attitude. Slightly inexperienced.

Value:
Why not pay a little more and go somewhere nicer?

Ambiance:
Dim and noisy. No layout whatsoever -- kind of like a cafeteria with fancy chairs and decorations.

Overall:
Come here for the atmosphere if you want to watch the hockey game or something, but not for food or a formal dinner.

Friendly and helpful waitresses, food is nothing special

Steaks and appitizers are okay but ribs and chicken are mediocre at best. The tandori chicken is very spicy in the Chicken/Rib combo, and there was nothing in the menu to warn patrons about it. The wine selection is okay, but prices very affordable. Most of the wines are $30-33, while one of the wines cost $25.99 at liquor store!! The most expensive wine was 05 Osoyoo Larose grand vin at $65. ($45 retail). I 've never seen markup below 100% at restaurants.

All the waitresses are very friendly and helpful with selctions. I am satisfied overall, but won't go back anytime soon because there are much better food around the block.

Value Wasn't There

We went for a quick lunch but it was just OKAY. The sandwich was definately not worth the money. It lacked the taste that I was looking for. I expected some bold flavours but was disapointed. The burger was better but I still feel the value was not there.

The restaurant is very well maintained and the service was excellent. That does not make me feel better about the food for the cost.

After I got over the noise level and feeling like a little insignificant fly in a big room, I noticed all the staff walking around real fast and doing much of nothing. Just walking fast, around and around and around, yet I couldn't get anyones attention for another drink. The food was bland and made by someone who doesn't care and I said the last time that I would never return and I mean it this time.
