This place used to be great when Sam was there. I would go a couple times a week and would drive far out of my way to stop there. I went there to grab dinner tonight and was terribly disappointed. According to the lady Sam no longer works there. I ordered a super beef donair for my self and a beef plate for my girlfriend. The super beef donair was smaller than the regular donair used to be and they skimped on the sauces and veggies (except the lettuce, it was mostly lettuce when I ate it). I asked for the beef plate with no Greek salad and just extra rice like I have always ordered it and that was met with much anger even though rice would have cost less for them than the salad. When I asked for a few onions on the beef plate I was told it was now extra even though in all the pictures of the beef plate on their menu they were stacked with veggies. I also found there attitudes to be terrible and they were rude to everyone that I saw them deal with while I was in there. Its to bad its not what it used to be, but its there loss I will take my $13.84 plus tip a couple times a week somewhere else.
What happened to this place? My husband and I have been a once a week visitor since they opened. The last two times the rice was undercooked and crunchy on the chicken plate and the rice grain has changed. We went again today and we got charged for jalapenos when it was the same way we had our plates since day one and have never been charged. They cheaped out on how much chicken we got, barely any this time, we got old ripped pitas and our hummus was lacking taste and watery! Where is Sam???? There is just some woman and kid I have never seen before who claim they are The new owners :(
This place could be really good. I had a combo with a greek salad. It was absolutely the worst greek salad I have ever had anywhere. It was mostly nasty green pepper, big pieces, tomatoes were hard as a rock and it had absolutely No dressing. Plus the worst part was the lille bit of cheese they put on was goat feta. I can';t stand goat cheese and it did not say anywhere that it was goat cheese. It wasn't much but it was enough to ruin th entire salad so I could not eat it.
The pita sanwich was ok but way too much sauce made the pita soggy and then fall apart. Customer service was lacking. I stood at the till for a very lond time before I was acknowledged. You gotta step it up if you want me to come back.
This place is excellent I used to be a frequent customer of donair affair just down the street which is awful. This new donair town blows the other place out of the water.
-Food is fresh and better seasoned
-The entire restaurant is clean, well lit, and inviting
- The staff is very friendly.
When ordering I spoke with the gentleman preparing my donair, he happened to be the owner. This is the original founder of the donair affair that is popular in Port Coquitlam just down the street by 7-11. Since it has been sold to the new owners it has gone way downhill in food quality, cleanliness and the staff was never friendly.
I am so happy that the original donair town is back!
