Great garlic hummous and chicken rice plate. Filling too. I crave this regularly. I find he plate better than the simple donair. The hot sauce is not hot in any way....more like tomato sauce.
They ask if you want cheese (crushed feta) on your food, it costs extra FYI.
The staff are grumpy and seem to be bothered that you are there ordering, but I think it is just them. I commented that I love the food and got a smile and short convo from the donair nazi one time.
I don't know why but i seriously can't get enough of this place. I've been going to this place a couple times a week for the last 5 years.
I can understand what some of the bad reviews are saying, the inside of the place kind of creeps me out. it seems a little dirty and the guys making your donairs seem like they hate you. I think the one review compared it to the soup nazi from seinfeld and that's dead on..
the chicken and lamb are perfectly spiced and the sauces are great. the consistency is sometimes up and down, sometimes you get the older guy and he loads it up and it's the size of a football, and other times i get the younger guy and it's so tiny i could eat two of them.
We eat falafels alot. We do not eat falafels from this place every again. My husband Gagged literally on his, choked and then vomitted. He said there was something large and hard in it. We did not search to see what it was.
Other than that for $5 each you get a microwaved falafel with iceberg lettuce, tomato and some bottled sauce. We asked for one falfel hot and one med hot. Got one hot one not hot - spice that is, as both were ICe COld inside. YUK.
The place is seriously filthy and the staff do not look like they bathe. This place is nasty.
Do not trust the price that you pay!!! make sure you calculate your own price. First person charged me $8 more than it should be. He told me it's the tax, of course it doesn't make sense. The second person re- calculated and still charged me $1 more, so be careful. Whatever you pay..please calculate it again. Other than that the food is outstanding like all the other reviewers said.
I was a donair affair regular, the food was consistently good and the value was great, the place then got sold to new owners. The staff is unfriendly and un talkative the donairs are sometimes great and sometimes not and the ceaser salads are always wilted. One of my biggest pet peeves about the place is their consistent overcharging. You will order a donair and then they will ask if you want everything on it and when you say yes they add cheese to it which they charge extra for not reflected in the menu sign. I don’t complain when this happens, I’m just happy that they did not overcharge me by $3-4 which occasionally happens as well.
The place to go is donair town which is on shaugnessy right before the underpass, this place is owned by the original owner of donair affair before it was sold, when it was still good. I went in there for the first time today and will never ever go back to the old place by 7-11. The meat is seasoned better, the owner Sam serves you himself or his lovely wife and they are both very pleasant and inviting. The food was very fresh and the entire place from food prep area to seating was much cleaner.
I am so happy I now have my old donair town back just around the corner.
I have been going this this little Donair shop for many years. When i lived in Maple Ridge, i would drive all the way to Poco just for the Donair. The best chicken donair in town by far. The lamb is pretty good too. Carribean and lebanese are my favorite flavours. Fresh ingredients, and a generous portion of meat with tasty sauces to tantalize your taste buds. Yes it can be quite messy to eat so you will need some extra napkins, but it's worth it.
i've been going to this location for about a year now. decent sized donair at reasonable prices, $4 for reg beef. much better than greek side cafe, which is up the street and around the corner. chicken donair is pretty good too, has flavour and the right amount of grease to it. ;-)
This place provides outstanding donairs.
The chicken starts off with marinated breasts put onto the big skewers. The beef & lamb are the standard pressed rolls.
Excellent sauces.
Everytime I've been there that staff are meticulous about washing their hands before fixing your meal.
Both the greek & caesar salad are very tasty. The baklava may be the best in the Tri-Cities.
I've ordered take out several times and although I can't say if it's "authentic" it tastes pretty damn good to me. Good sized donair wrap. Highly recommend the chicken. If you get the special, you get a wrap, salad and a drink for $7.99 (I think, sorry I can't remember for sure).
Although I do recommend asking them to go easy on the dressing on the Caesar (a bit much for me).
It's always busy when I stop in or drive by so it seems like I'm not the only one that likes the donairs
Don't judge a book by it's cover. In this case, the book is probably missing it's cover. Whenever I'm around this place at meal times, I'm always want to have a donair. There's just something about the Lamb w/ mushroom donair that gets to me. I always get them to "cook" the mushrooms and onions. Hold the tomato. Sometimes I get the friendly, overly flirtatious young guy and sometimes I get the super serious old guy. Either way, the donair is SO DELICIOUS.
That being said, don't expect much of an ambiance. There is none. Basically there's a huge wrap around counter w/ stools to sit at. It's super hot in the summer and a TV in the corner aimed at the cooks. See what I mean? Don't go there if you want to sit and eat and enjoy the day. You might just melt. The portion is great for what you pay and they don't skimp on the sauce. This is a great place for your lunch/dinner to go.
I have been going here for years, and they have the beast donair I have ever had. They have 2 white sauces and they are dynamite! Lamb, Beef, Chicken, Falafel are piled deep into pita with a bunch veggie topping. This is a big donair, so make sure to get a few extra napkins!
They ding you an extra buck for the feta and don't mention the extra cost. Forgivable for a great donair at a great price.
I've been coming to this and only this donair place for about 3 years.
They're beef donair is ok, but the chicken and lamb are fab.
4 sauces(i suggest all) and extra add-on's if your up for it like fried mushrooms or onions. And the offer fresh feta on top. Yikes.
Been to many donair places in many local cities and over the years this has been the most consistant. Only complaint is the line gets in the way when your just grabbing a quick lunch to go.
Maybe not the best place to take someone on a dinner date but to sit down for a quick lunch it's pretty good.
i was in the area and noticed the sign so i decided to swing by.
-Service wasnt fantastic but i didnt care i was hungry
-Ordered a giant chicken sharawma sandwich which was actually incredible, well worth the money, defintley a good value. I am getting hungry just typing my review about it
defintley should go if your in the area or you work close by, really big shawamra sandwiches and the owner (i think) dosnet skimp on the fixens
This place claimes they sever real donair nothing is authentic they use ranch sauce for christ sake and if you dont care much a about quality they you might like it i really want to know what iam putting in my stomach.I got nervous walking int here the place was not all that clean and i had to tell the staff to wash there hands before making my food.I would never ever go there EVER. I much rather go to Greek side cafe down the block.
Price:
$5.25 for a Super Beef
The Pita:
The pita was soft and chewy through-out the entire donair. The pita was never hard and is perfect till the last bite.
The Meat:
The meat was delicious, but at times it was over seasoned. Some people say the meat does not taste like real beef. Personally, I love the meat.
The Veggies:
The veggies were okay. The lettuce tasted dry and the tomatoes were kind of mushy. This could have been because I went their before closing. The cucumbers and onions were fine.
The Sauces:
The sauces are perfect. The creamy garlic sauce tastes sweet but not too sweet, it is just right. The hot sauce balances the sweetness perfectly but is not overwhelming, everyone should have hot sauce.
The Restaurant / Atmosphere:
The restaurant is kind of dirty and is sometimes smokey inside due to the cooking. The bathroom is always out of order but you can still use it (I think they do that to keep the bums out). The service is not that friendly and reminds me of the Soup Nazi off of Seinfeld (NO DONAIR FO YOU!). Also, keep an eye on what they charge you because I have been over charged a few times but I did not say anything because I realized too late.
Rating: 7.5 / 10
For the price this donair is a great value. The restaurant is kinda grimy but what do you expect in Poco. I have had donairs in many places and this is still one of my top 5. I rate them 7.5 / 10

Last time I was there I bought 2 donairs and they charged me more than the price on menu, and the service was so poor, they didn't greet people and they act like you come to them for free food, even the owner did same way. The TV was on, their eyes just starred at the TV almost all the time and good thing that their donair still taste ok but not excellent. And again beware of the price.
