Not bad, but prices too high

I've been going here since it opened, and I have definatley noticed that the quality of the lunch buffet has slid downhill gradually. Used to be excellent but has been consistently watered down the past several months. You will notice better food if you order a la carte, delicious. You will also be paying more too! The prices are still high for what you get. Especially considering the small portions.

NOTE: You get larger portions for the same price if you get take out. I'd say that's the way to go. Check your entertainment guide to offset the cost if dining in and you will be sure to enjoy!

Very good lunch buffet

Bombay is located within a strip mall in the south-eastern corner of the Lougheed and Westwood intersection in Port Coquitlam. The a-la-carte dinner menu is extensive and food quality is quite good in a little on the pricey side. Your best bet is to head over for their popular lunch buffet where staples like Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Curry, and Butter Chicken are always on the menu. one thing about the buffet, however, is that food is not always refilled quick enough and the Nan always seems to disappear the fastest.

If you are planning on an a-la-carte dinner, you can choose the level of spiciness of any of the dishes, however be warned that "hot" is VERY hot. It is guaranteed to make you sweat and feel generally uncomfortable.

Ha ha,now that I got your attention. This place has unbelievable food especially the butter chicken. I would eat this everyday if I could. I was so impressed when I ordered pick up one time. One portion fed two people I would say bigger than when dining in. This place gets two thumbs up and service was very good.

Fantastic Lamb Korma!

We often order pick up meals from Bombay. I always order the Lamb Korma, medium spicy, It is DELICIOUS! They are generous with the protein in the meal and I have never been disappointed with the flavour. Their pricing is a little up there compared to a lot of Indian restaurants but I have no trouble paying for quality food.
The decor inside the restaurant is plain and I cannot comment on the service as I have only ever taken the food to go.

Good Curry

I love curry and this place delivers. We often came for the buffet brunch which was so inexpensive and good. They have discontinued that and it is much more expensive but I would not say out of line for what we have in the area.
The service was very good and the server attentive. I recently read in the Province that it was voted one of the best restaurants of this kind in the Lower Mainland. If you like this type of cuisine then hurry on down.

This was my first and last time at Bombay restaurant...We started off with an order of veggie samosa's. They were actually really good. The whole experience went downhill after ordering our appetizer. We ordered vegetable curry, and butter chicken. $9.95 + 5.50 for nann and rice? That is absurd considering the portion size for each is a small bowl. The worst thing about our dining experience was the service. We ordered way before a 4 top that was sitting beside us. We waited 50 minutes for our food, and there were only 4 tables in the restaurant! We got out tiny portions, and ate without saying a thing. The server didn't even quality control check us, or apologize for waiting 50 minutes for food. Our bill was $40, and defiantly not worth the price. Don’t waste your money!

Delicious

This is one of my favourite Indian Restaurants in all of BC! Everything I've tried so far has been extremely flavorful and fresh tasting! I can't get enough of their korma (lamb and chicken are both great), it's absolutely delicious...rich and creamy, but all the curries I've tried so far were good! I personally feel the portions are large (at least for curries) and have only finished my entire curry plate once! The staff are always very friendly, and the atmosphere is calm and inviting! Highly recommend The Bombay if you are looking for amazing Indian food, and a friendly staff!
