Dirty glassess, cold cheap quality food, stale smoke stench inside, fresh smoke stench at the entrance and fairly scary clientelle all add up to a big pass. This is a lower class bar in a strip mall in a lower class neighorhood. Would you expect any less?
I would never set foot in this place again, no matter what I was offered. I went home and showered.
This pub has been around a while and is located in a strip mall. The regulars may appear a little rough around the edges from when I went.
The Entertainment coupon is accepted here.
The food is what you'd expect from pub food and is decent pub food.
Nothing particularly spectacular to make the drive out to this place but if you're in the area and looking for a pub on this street then it may be considered.
We go to the Arms when we want a good cheap breakfast from 11-2pm on weekends. The ambiance is rough at best but if you can't get past the people smoking in front of the door and the horrid decor, then a good breakfast awaits you.
The service here is fantastic and you can't go wrong with a $5 breakfast. We'll be back for many more breakfasts here.
This place is a beer parlour!! Nothing else!
Should have turned around as soon as we came to the place and had to walk through 6 smokers at the front door - disgusting!
Service was the pits, had to go to the bar to get our first drinks and server came by with some menus 15 minutes later.
Food was microwaved I'm sure as everything had zero taste.
Place was filthy.
First time I have ever felt uneasy about going to a "pub" in the Vancouver area, intoxicated people everywhere the result of a cheap Thursday beer special and no real control.
Get with the times!!!!!
The arms is a great neighborhood pub with a good menu of fair priced food. They have daily deals on drinks and food. It isn't a gourmet establishment by any means but a good place to party with friends or grab a quick bite. It also shows UFC fights and Canucks games regularly. I give this restaurant a rating of 4 stars because although it isnt the fanciest the servers are all awesome and the food is cheap, filling and tasty.
I agree with previous reviews that the Arms Pub is "rough around the edges" and I definitely wouldn't go for ambience (although I love the people watching). That being said, it's a pub and I have definitely been in worse with higher prices. The prices at the Arms are great- Entrees costing no more than $10 with good portion sizes (my favourite is the Prime Rib burger and Fries which is only $6 and when on special only $4.50!!). The wings are awesome and on wing days are only 25cents each. Beer is on special for $2 a glass several times a week (can't beat that!) and highballs are always around $4 (They may be in small glasses, but i always find them quite strong).
If you're looking for good food and drinks in PoCo at a good price I would definitely check it out.
As for the food this pub is superb, hands down. The dishes are what you would expect from a pub menu, however the portions, quality and prices will blow you away.
Drinks are strong and cheap.
The music is at a great level, loud enough to create a gentle buzz but quite enough to hold a conversation.
The service is A+; friendly, professional and attractive.
As for Ambiance, this Pub is located in a strip mall, the patio is in a parking lot, this just adds to the limitless flow of people watching, If your looking to impress a date with modern fancy flooring and stonework this is not what this pub is about. If you are searching for a place to take in some rough edged pub atmospher and laugh your ass of at the regulars antics then this is the place. We will be returning for sunday breaky!
I wouldn't recommend this place. It looks pretty rough. The atmosphere and decor screams "low budget". The highballs arrive in these teeny tiny little glasses.
The patrons that visit this pub all look like they're on a day-trip from the old folk's home and the men that go here are pretty creepy and desperate.
The food is decent and its low-priced but if you're looking for something more young, hip, up-scale or pleasing to the eyes, go somewhere else.
