Last week my friend and I went down to the states, and upon returning to Canada, we stopped by the Applebee's in Burlington, Washington.
When I last went to Applebee's in Burlington they had a special, where you can get two entrees and an appetizer for $20...it was great food, so with the 1,000 of different restaurant chains that they have in the United States we had decided to come here.
Upon entering, we were greated by the hostess...She sat us immediatly to a table, but I had asked if we could have a booth. She said "absoultely, but it will take a few minutes just so we can clean it up" no problem. My friend and I were then sitting down and looking at the menu. I had decided on splurging and ordered the 2 entree meals and appetizer for my self two 7oz steaks with fries and bonless chicken wings (I ate all but a bite, but goodness, I ate too much) and my friend had the cowboy burger and later dessert.
Our waitress came and took our order (she was a little bit rude) I don't even remember what I asked and what she said....all I remember is asking my friend "wasn't she a little rude" I ordered a coke to drink which came immediatly.
afterwards our food had come...in the middle of eating our meals, I had wanted a refill on my drink.....the waitress siad she would get it, but never came....after awhile I flagged down ither another waitress or a hostess.....she never came back.....waited awhile until finally another waitress brought my drink....it seemed like I had 2 different waitresses that night (I have eaten at many restaurants in Washington State and don't recall anything like that) anyhow, later my friend ordered an ice cream cup and she said it was good.
Anyhow, waitress #1 noticed that I didn't eat my vegetables....and she said for future referance, I could request more fries....so that was good.....and after a little while she brough our bill.
All and all, it was a great visit with great food....just had to wait too long for a refill......I'll be back
I had to wait long for take out. I got the order came home , but it was a wrong order. I called them back to find out what happened;all I got was sorry !!!!
Do you want to come back to pick it up again. They should have offer to deliever it for me. For the money they offeer to give me store credit.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I needed to stop for something to eat before shopping (you know, the whole don't shop on an empty stomach thing) and decided to go to Applebees in POCO. He had been here on three other occasions but this was a first time for me.
Upon walking in we were greeted by a young friendly hostess. We were seated and we made small talk with her, all good.
Looking at the drink menu first, I liked what I saw and honestly wanted to try a couple of things on it but settled for the Mango Lemonade - my husband and a pint of lager.
Our drinks came quickly and I was not disappointed, although I'm pretty sure my "alcoholic" drink didn't have any alcohol, regardless, it was delicious.
We decided to order from the $25 deal menu - 1 appetizer and 2 entrees. To be honest, nothing really appealed to me on this menu, but because of the deal I decided to go for the Bacon Cheeseburger. My husband had the Shrimp. We chose the spinach and artichoke dip for the appetizer, it was not bad.
The meal came reasonably quick but as soon as I saw my burger I was NOT impressed! It was sloppily put together and gotta say, had a bad smell. I asked for it to not have lettuce or tomato but added mushrooms. The meat was just sloppy and I am sorry to say but I can't find the right word to describe the meat other than it was gross. I ate a quarter of it but I was starving and had to eat something. The fries were overdone leaving them dry and hard. My husband said his shrimp was kind of dry but he didn't mind them. He said they were the frozen kind you can get at Costco.
While eating, the general manager came up to us to see our baby - he made small talk, which if it was before the food arrived, it wouldn't have been a problem, but felt it was a little rude while we were "eating". He stayed a while, I almost felt like I was being rude for not asking him to sit down. Don't get me wrong, he was very friendly, I guess I just like to eat in private and not have strangers watch.
I feel I need to say that our server was very friendly and we didn't wait for things we had asked for, no problem with the service during our visit.
When we finished eating (both of us not finishing, which is very unusual for my husband), the gm came back and asked how our meal was and if there were any problems. My husband said fantastic, but I was truthful and told him it sucked. He looked around and said he doesn't like the burgers at all either. I, at first laughed, but then thought to myself, if you're the general manger and you think the burgers suck too, why the #$(*# don't you do something about it? Isn't that his job? When I was mentioning my displeasure for the meal, I was surprised that he didn't offer any kind of compensation and didn't even offer and apology. That was a turn off for me.
I think that if you wanted a few drinks in a pub like atmosphere, by all means, they are cheap and good here, but as far as ordering any type of food, I really have to advise against it. There is a pub just up the road, I've never been there, but I'm sure it's better than Applebees.
The wife and I stop in once in awhile when we go to costco but the last two times we have been there the food seems to be getting worse. The chicken wrap was soggy and was on a dirty plate which she sent back and I always get the riblets which both times were undercooked. If the food was better it would be good value for the money.
First time here. Waiting for an oil change at the dealership close by so I decided to pop in with my sister. The place wasn't very busy at all (two other tables) but our server sure livened up the place! I'm big on pasta so I decided to give it a shot here too. Not good. Not good. Clumpy...luke warm and just tasted off. My server made sure I left happy regardless of the bad food! If you go here I do not recommend pasta.
Been to Applebee's a couple of times, but not really my type of restaurant. I thought the food was ok nothing special but it was ok for the price and atmosphere. Similar to more of a pub style then a Restaurant, The service was good but I felt the atmosphere and food could use a upgrade.
