I was there with family friends tonight and saw the manager/owner of Dinaki's tell my friend who's blind that his guide dog must wait outside. After my friend offered to show legislation and Guide Dog certificate, the manager still refused, and went into the back several times to "check". When the manager finally came back, he denied ever saying that the guide dog must stay outside, while customers at other tables confronted the manager/owner, confirming that he did in fact say that the guide dog must stay out. He mentioned that the reason for the misunderstanding was that he didn't want to disturb other customers with the guide dog. To that, other customers told the manager/owner that they had no problem with the guide dog, and the only problem they were having was with his attitude. He then tried to make excuses and come up with examples, which made no logical sense to anyone listening. He also tried to blame the waitresses for the whole incident, saying they were uneducated and denying that he himself was uneducated as to the law requiring accommodation for guide dogs. Do not eat here, Dinaki's discriminates against people with disabilities.
I was very surprised to see such negative reviews from other people. I have picked up take out from here a few times, and it's soon yummy. Especially the Greek salad dressing!!!!! I had the chicken souvlaki every time, so I cannot comment on other dishes. But it's really juicy and delicious.
Really like Orrange. Stupid name. Wine and beer super cheap . Fries are the best I have very had anywhere . I don't even like fries but I have them here. Never tried the chicken "stripes" not sure what they are. Never tried the butter to see if it's crispy or not . That would be weird. I super love the wedge sald it's the. Best. ,go have cheap applies and cheap booze. It's good. Not trying to be a fancy restaurant just cheap applies and cheap drinks
I will not talk about menu because it is not a menu for the place they are positioning them self. It is a mix of food truck menu and low level eatery, but prices are not.
I have to say the service was on good level.
However, food was not eatable. Fish and chips was way to over cooked, butter was not crispy enough, size was small and pricey, chicken stripes and fries was to oily, but chicken was cooked well. Also we have tried pork ribs - it was a huge mistake. Ribs was to dry. Fries are not good as well, in 5 minutes it was soggy. Coleslaw is the only thing we liked :)
If place positioning it self as restaurant it should provide decent food.
Do not recommend to go to the place until they fix their food.
First time at the Fiddle and I must say they have a great beer selection. This is my girlfriends local hangout and go to place for having a beer and a bite to eat. She brags that they always have specials and great prices. I gotta say… she’s right! The place was pretty busy so you could tell it’s popular.
The menu has a big selection of appies and we had a hard time choosing but we tried the chicken wings, chili chicken bites and veggie quesadilla – big portions and really well done – my fav was the chili chicken bites – best I’ve ever had – the prices were good too! Waitress staff was great and friendly. Overall had really good service - glad I went – I’ll be back and I'm looking forward to trying more items from the menu (especially the beer!)
Come here quite often with family and friends. The best Greek restaurant in BC!!! Food is excellent (especially the roast lamb, amazing!), they allow for substitutions without any fuss, the service is excellent and the portion sizes are very generous. Highly recommended!
the Spanakopita dinner which was a really tasty meal, and also a good option for anyone who's Vegetarian. My friend got the Tiger Prawns and he said they were also delicious.Service was very good, waitresses were always ready to top up your water, and the food came relatively quickly. An all around good experience
I have been a "frequenter" of Matteo's Gelato for years and have recommended and continue to recommend Matteo's Gelato to all that I meet.
Yes, the food is great, the gelato is the best, the service is "wonderful". However, the coffee is the "best cup of coffee you can get anywhere"...as well!!
Worst service and delivery ever. The guy yells at the kids that work there and is soooo mean. In Poco it's known as the worst place to work. You only work there if you are desperate.
I tried to order pizza for delivery and they only accept cash or credit. What pizza place doesn't have a debit machine nowadays? So then they won't take my order until I give them my credit card info. I can't just pay when it comes? How fricking aggravating. So I go to find my card and they hang up on me. So I have to call back and reorder. I give all my info and then later the bimbo calls back and says that my card was rejected! Lol - it fully paid off always. Whata stupid place . Dumb girl probably couldn't figure out haw to do,it. They staff there is awful - bottom of the cuz no one wants to work ther. Don't support this bad place and nasty owners
The cat and fiddle pub is a great place for a night out, whether your with your friends, family, co-workers or by yourself. The food is amazing and the staff have great attitudes! I would highly recommend coming here for a great time out! They have a wide variety to choose off their delicious menu, and endless amounts of tasty drinks and always have wicked specials!
The Cat and Fiddle is an awesome pub. The location was very easy to find, I like the setting of the pub. It is very spacious. Also how kids can go in the pub which gives it a family atmosphere. The servers were efficient and quick, and the food tasted amazing. I had a great night, and would go back again.
Original authentic japanese food from a japanese Chef. Refreshing considering most owners are Korean or Chinese in this area. Daily specials, Original rolls and they serve liquor. Food wait times are longer than normal as there is only one cook. Small dining area so large party's of 6 or more might not fit. Very friendly staff. About the same price point as the neighbouring restaurants but smaller sushi portions. The difference in portions is balanced by the presentation and care in preparation. This place is not your typical large portion, lower mainland ,get you in and out as fast as possible sushi joint. It's worth the drive from Vancouver to try this place out.
Lingerie lunch is on the last Thursday of every month and it is always a great time! The servers are all super hot and the models that come in for the lunch are always super fun! It is a great way to escape from work for lunch and have a great time. The food specials and craft beer is amazing and it is definitely one of the best times at the fiddle :)
Wow, I don't normally write bad reviews but this one really deserves one this time, I have to let people know on this one. I call in for pickup order at 7, and they tell me half an hour for pickup. I get there at 7:25, wait and wait, nothing. After waiting for 20 minutes they tell me it's going to be 5 min. so I wait longer, with my 3 year old daughter with patience of, yes, a 3 year old. I'm struggling every minute to keep her busy and wait. After 30 min of waiting, I finally had enough, I ask to cancel, they say no, I can't cancel. WTF? Keep saying another 5 min. OK finally after 40-45 minutes later my order is ready. Wow, I never waited this long for a pickup order. and I can't even cancel?!!!!
After waiting extra 45 minutes sitting around, for a pick-up order, they offer me 'ONE FREE POP' - are you kidding me?
So I go back home and unpack the boxes, and this is really weird, I'm not an expert in sushi, but is it normal to have your fish on HOT Rice??? it just tasted really weird, because I've been eating sushi since highschool, say 20 years or so, and never had sushi made with hot rice like this.
Their rolls weren't too bad tho, other than the BC roll had only tiny tiny piece of salmon skin in it. Try California Sushi or any other restaurant, you get more than one piece of skin size of a fly, that was a joke. California roll and Spicy Tuna were decent, but these are pretty basic.
Anyway, there. For those who want to try, eat in. Take out will take forever, and you can't cancel, and you will be treated like dirt - to these guys, the customers who don't "tip" don't seem important to them. Little do they know, take-out customers take out a lot more frequent than dine-in customers.
This evening was the last time with this restaurant. There are plenty other restaurants with far better service in timely manners, and honest owners out there where I rather spend my money in.
This place has been here forever and I know they are going for the English pub feel. It works but comes complete with the old dirty feeling of and English pub. Sticky tables too- ew. Food is ok. Penne pasta very good . Wing nights are popular with entire families with scores of children line up and wait for a shot at cleaning up on the chicken arms. Happy hour specials are good but it should end at 6 not 5. Too early for many commuters from the burbs. Also they need to put their policies on their menu like no take on the cheap wings. We ordered a few dozen to go and no where did it say the price was for eat in only.. When I complained they looked at me like I was stupid and should have known. I have also caught them advertising special prices on drinks around the pub and then not honouring them on the bill. Check your bill carefully.
Wow is all I have to say! This place is fabulous. The portions are huge, but it is quality food. The owners are very friendly and the service is excellent. I love the cheese appy, I think it's called saginaki... Whatever it's called, it melts in your mouth! The tzatziki is excellent, the lamb is perfect and the garlic mashed is phenomenal. Try this place, you won't be disappointed!
I've eaten here twice and both times have been good experiences.
This is a small, simple restaurant with a minimal menu.
The ingredients are fresh, home-made and the price is very good.
The portions are also very generous - like many middle eastern restaurants i've grown fond of.
i usually come here by myself because the restaurant is a place where i can truly enjoy a meal by myself, almost in a spiritual fashion, without all the expectations of feeling that i am actually eating out. it's a special kind of feeling.
with persian food, i am not very knowledgeable of the spices or cooking techniques but i know fresh when i eat it. and who can complain with the prices? you get a huge plate of meat, rice and tomato for 7 bucks. the only places that you can find value like this are at asian places, like crystal mall or richmond public market.
this is one of those restaurants where you can eat like a regular and not break your wallet and while eating, enjoy some great, down to earth persian cooking - which is rare in our part of the world.
I came in for lunch after an appointment. I stood inline beind a lady who clearly ordered a veggie sub. She then looked at the board where it said "add bacon - $1.50 for a foot long. So she added it. The whole ordering process she had to repeat herself as the woman making the sandwich did not listen. When she got to the till they tried to charge her for a BLT at close to $8 when it should have been $5 plus $1.50. They argued with her about hte amount of bacon they put on (more for a BLT I guess) and she said she didn't ask for that amount just "add bacon" and was not in the loop as to how much bacon is supposed to go on. While this went on my sandwich was ambandoned while they all argued with her. Pretty embarrasing for the store. It's always nice to see staff fightin with honest customers. She finally just paid and left.
SUbway pricing has always been ridiculous- now the emplyees are too.
Tonight (aaprox 4:30 pm Friday night) was our first time eating at San Remo and we ordered a large pizza for our family of three. We tried 1/2 mediteranian and 1/2 greek. The pizza was brought to our table in approx 25 minutes which was decent timing. The pizza was quite good with very fresh and plenitful toppings. We were all stuffed and had a slice for taking home left over.
My 14 year old son really liked it and commented that we will certainly return. It did start getting quite busy with the restaurant filling up as we ate, so go early or most likely expect a wait. The server was very pleasant and attentive throughout our evening. Will be back.
The owner is very clean and always keep the place clean. I have ordered pizza and paste from Grigore since 2012. The crust is very good and toppings are very fresh. I love the spicy meat sauce very much. Their homemade chicken wings are very crispy and fresh. Also, the owner always creates new recipe and add different toppings to the pizza. They also have very good ribs and half chicken. I have tried the garden salad and mediterranian salad. The salad is very fresh. I am highly recommending to place orders from this pizza place.
I don't get the meh reviews here. I think this place is awesome!...They use higher quality ingredients than most Greek places, keep the prices in check by making the portions sightly smaller, a winner formula. Their Roast shoulder is fantastic as well as the calamari. Don't get me wrong, you will not leave here hungry....it's just that you probably won't have a doggy bag like a lot of places. Ambiance and decor are nice clean and modern but it is in PoCo after all. Good service, family run, would recommend with no hesitation.
