Kabuki Sushi is a Japanese restaurant serving basic and creative sushi and hot food for lunch and dinner.
Have dined at Kabuki over 30 times in past 4 years.
Always had favourable experience. So many sushi places have been drifiting fast-foodish. Kabuki keeps a personal touch. Food consistently great. Service consistently friends. Restaurant is clean and suitably decorated. Pricing is very fair. Very few sushi places are posh or gourmet. This place is definitely above average. Parking never a problem.
Forgot my credit card there one time and got it back. Says a lot.
I will return and recommend this place to others.
i can't say the food is bad, it isn't. it is just kinda boring. the service was good, but the best thing about the place was that it is newer and prettier. i would rather go to akasaka, even though it is an older building.
if you are hungry, and don't have high expectations, this is a good a place as any to eat. everything is what you expect, just not above that.
still, at least it is clean, and the staff smile at you. that counts for something in my books.
I love the tempura at this place. The last time I went it was served cold. I mentioned it and the waitress came back and said it would take 20 minutes to make it again because they had a large order that came in. When i said that it was cold the waitress replied,"the cook said it was not." I was dissapointed, and left without tempura
My friends like to go here. They live in Pitt Meadows and I guess options are limited. I don't like mayo, but love me a spicy tuna roll. I was disappointed to see it arrive to the table absolutely drenched in spicy mayo. If that's your thing, then you'll like it. I don't know, the service is mediocre, the food is a bit over-priced and the food is nothing to write home about. Not too excited either way.
I've tried this restaurant three times and all three times it was pretty good food, not the best sushi I've ever had, but dependable. All three tims I had one of the lunch boxes (the one with the California roll) and I found the battered vegetables, the roll, and the salad quite good. The dressing on the salad was delicious. The batter was light and the vegetables tender. The teryaki chicken was just okay, the meat was not as high quality as other places I have been. The service can be slow, despite having 2-3 waitresses working during the lunch hour. I have to go up for my bill each time, and wait for a few minutes to pay. Overall, a dependable choice for lunch, but not spectacular.
This place is okay. Nothing special. The food is good, the prices are okay. The service is okay. The biggest problem is that it is cold. They need to turn up the heat. It is freezing in there.Other then that an okay place to eat.
I visit this restaruant once or twice a week - they have great food you can depend on with great service. With take out or dine in the service is always fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable with many options. You would be crazy to eat anywhere else in the area.
Kabuki's always busy. The restaurant is always overflowing with people. (It's a small one too) Once you get to know the owners, they are so happy to see you, and they are eager to interact with people even though they are super busy. I usually order for take out on regular basis, and I have never been disappointed by them. If the order is wrong or something is missing, they always make sure that you get extra food or extra credit. I don't really recommend their "regular" rolls (like spicy tuna roll, chopped scallop roll, etc) since I'm not a big fan of mayo (they use spicy mayo sauce on their rolls) but I definitely recommend everyone their special rolls. My favourite ones are Red Dragon Roll and Crispy Crunch Roll. If you like spicy chopped scallop, you might enjoy hotty magma roll as well. I loved their Specialy Dynamite Roll also. And some of the special rolls, you can order half order and see if it's for you or not, so I like about that. Enough about sushi, the most delicious menu comes from the kitchen. Their hot food is probably the best from what I have tried ever. (I love Japanese food so I have tried alot of Jap Restaurants in tri-cities, burnaby, downtown etc) Their Yakiudon is so good you will fall in love with them. Their bento boxes are very good too, and filling! I also loooove their tempura. Usually I'm not a big fan of tempura since they are too oily, but Kabuki's tempura is very crispy, not oily, and very little batter on the veggies, prawn, whatever. Their squid tempura looks really popular too (I don't really hear this from other restaurant) Also Spicy agedashi tofu.. oh my favourite. I hate tofu, and I hate agedashi tofu even more (since it's deep fried..) but I can totally tolerate Kabuki's Spicy agedashi tofu. I am so in love with it! LOL It's just deep fried to perfection and spicy sauce is not too spicy, sweet somewhat. If you order Amaebi Nigiri sushi, they give you deep-fried amaebi heads which you don't see from other restaurant! The only thing is restaurant isn't too big (there's only like 8~10 tables) so if you're going with a crowd, you should definitely make a reservation beforehand.
