Cozy noodle joint, also serves Vietnamese and western style coffee.
Really great price food is very tasty. Awesome place to go for lunch, service and food is prompt. Excellent vietnamese food, it is really good quality with a good sized portion. Favourite is the grilled chicken with rice and spring rolls. Spring rolls are the highlight! Would definately recommend this spot for a hearty lunch. Ambiance is solid, decor is up to date and what you would expect from a quick lunch spot.
I was browsing through DineHere the other day, when I happened to come across the first review for this restaurant. Being a Pitt Meadows resident, I have to admit that I did not even know this restaurant existed....it is not an area that I usually pass by.
Had a busy week so arranged to pick up the wife from the WestCoast express station, and before I went to pick her up, stopped by the restaurant to order some food for take out.
The restaurant shows nice, but simple decor, and has probably around 25 seats...a number of these were filled. I went to the counter with a menu and the owner greeted me with a friendly smile. I chatted with him a bit and found out that the place had actually been open for about 5 months.
We took home some spring rolls, grilled chicken on rice, grilled pork on vermicelli and the house special Pho'.
Let me just say that this had to have been the best Vietnamese food I have ever tasted...very rich stock in the soup and the spring rolls were incredible!
Took me a while to discover this place, but I am very glad I did.
Quaint little place with good portions of decent Pho. My family does have other Pho places that they prefer, but this one is close to our home and never disappoints. Owner takes a bit of warming up but once he gets to know you, he remembers your preferences. Give it a try for a nice meal.
Never having Pho before, and finding myself in the area and remembering some positive reviews, decided to check it out. Having NO idea what pho even is, I guess you need to take this review simply from the perspective of a simple hungry diner.
Ordered the noodles with beef and beef balls. Came with a small plate of sprouts, jalapenos and lime about 2 minutes before the meal, wasnt sure if it was supposed to be a salad or garnish, decided on garnish and dumped most of it into the bowl when it arrived. Beef broth, 6-7 small pieces of beef with noodles. nothing particularly special about it at all.
Service, not particularly friendly, seemed mildly indifferent if anything.
Value, hell it's only $8 including tax, but still didnt feel particularly well fed, think i'd rather have the lunch special at one of the local sushi places
Ambience, simple, dead bugs on the window next to my table never excite me, and not sure I understand the boy band music on the radio, along with intermittent tv noise as well
Glad I gave it a try but wouldn't return
There are a lot of Pho places out there serving watery, tasteless soup with veggies & meat that have seen better days. DT Noodles is NOT one of them. I tried them for the first time several weeks ago, and have been back once or twice a week since.
The soup broth is rich and flavourful, the meats are premium and nicely sliced, and the toppings (bean sprouts, thai basil, scallions, onions, & peppers ) are extremely fresh and plentiful. They also give you plenty of noodles, cooked just right, not mushy. I usually order Pho with steak & brisket.
If you want take out, they do a great job of packing everything individually, so that you can take it home, re-heat the broth and assemble everything properly. This way, the meat, veggies and noodles do not get overcooked on your way home.
I find one order of Pho to be enough for 2 lunches. I sometimes also order the spring rolls which aside from being delicious and crispy, are a good size and not too oily. The coffee is also nice, and very strong.
The decor is more cafe than noodle house- rich dark wood with tasteful decorations. Nice place to sit and read the paper.
As for service, at first I found it a bit brusque, but after another visit or two the husband/wife team became more friendly. Take out orders are filled very quickly, with the exception of coffee which they brew individually to order. Don't ask for coffee if you're in a hurry!
If you like Vietnamese noodles- heck, even if you've never had them, head over and give DT a try. You'll not be dissapointed.
