I have been to Pho Pasteur for lunch and dinner a few times with my family and friends. I enjoyed my meals. Service is very good. The broth here is the best I've had compare to other Pho restaurants. The food is fresh. The price is right. The portion is reasonable.
I've had the Pasteur Pho Special a few times, Mi Bo Kho (Vietnamese Beef Stew Egg Noodle), Bun Bo Hue (Vietnamese Hue-Style Spicy Beef Noodle Soup), Bun Mang Vit (Duck and Bamboo Shoot Vermicelli Soup) and Spring Rolls. They are delicious!
The restaurant has other specials on weekends. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to try them all yet.
This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
Have tried this place a couple of times, first time ordered over the phone, went out and waited 10 - 15 mins for order to be ready, when I got back home (5mins away) it was cold, had to be reheated. I called to complain and ask how it could be? she said sorry will be better next time. Tonight I walked in and ordered 6 egg rolls, and a chicken fried rice, and a garlic sauce. When I got home, only noticed the leak when I walked across the kitchen floor and seen the drips, then went to the car and wet spot on the passengers seat. Seems the garlic sauce lid had a rip in it, they used scotch tape on it, then placed the plum sauce on top. I called to explain the problem, Amy (said to be manager) response was too bad. Says I left her store with food, and wasn't her problem??? I said it was packaged wrong, she says no, and I must have dropped it! I said if I had dropped it, bag would be busted and on sidewalk, this went from store to car to kitchen. TOO BAD was her reply, once it leaves her place she is no longer responsible. Now wait till Monday to find a place to steam clean my seat, and in this weather! This is the worst service I have ever experience. I will be sure to never step foot in this place again, nor will I ever recommend this to anyone I know looking for Chinese food... Sad when they are close to home, but will go out of my way to find better customer service & FOOD!!!
I brought my employees for Christmas party to that restaurant. The food was nice, and we had a good time. I paid the bill for the company, but I did not add a tip. I left earlier and my co-workers stayed longer. I had a feeling that the party went well, but the next day I noticed pretty sour faces of my co-workers. It turned out, after I had left, they were approached by the restaurant's staff and they were told that because their boss did not pay any tip, my co-workers HAD to pay tips! I reimbursed my co-workers on the following day for the tips that they paid at the restaurant, but the holiday atmosphere was ruined.
My question is: did I HAVE to leave a tip?!
I am left with a feeling that the restaurant's staff does not care about its customers, and I find it unacceptable to approach customers and to demand a tip.
On that reason, I do not recommend the restaurant.
Ordered Shawarma platter which usually comes with rice (rice is stated in menu). Platter came with no rice, soggy homefries instead. When I called I was told they were very busy and low on rice (not out of rice) but customers eating in the restaurant get priority over delivery. No explanation as to why we were not told this when we placed the order. In short, don't order delivery from this restaurant unless you want to be treated like a second class customer. We used to recommend this place, and our platter and 20 piece chicken is a regular $60 order, but we will not be ordering here again.
Absolutely great value for dollar and then some! The choice of fresh big juicy burgers is extensive and somewhat locally themed. Amazing daily specials. Fresh cut fries. Counter staff can be a bit hit and miss.. this is a seasonal joint, but the main guy is great, comes out and checks on how things are going. So fortunate to have such a great local place, and highly recommend stopping in if you're out for a drive in the country. Decor is a bit sparse, but it's a beachy burger joint, not fine dining, but certainly better than any of the pub-style burgers in town. Great for take-out too.
A Girl at Bay Burgers is rude on the phone and has done a number of things that should not be done. One they ran out of medium pizza dough and would not do anything for me so i had to go somewhere else. I like the owner of this place but i think this has turned me off.
The atmosphere screams fine dining, the food and service leave much to be desired.
The Caesar salad was overly dry, while the picante pizza had its moments, it seemed like they were trying too hard to make it Italian-styled, when it still tasting more North American.
The dinner menu items feature some promising items, such as the Penne pasta dishes (the milano grilled chicken with fettucine was good), it fell short of expectations. The service was also very unapologetically slow.
My sisters took me to Bella's today for lunch....my choice of restaurant. We were all disappointed. I had Manicotti which was bland and micro waved. My sisters had penne with sausage and bland, so so. Very surprising. I have never had a bad meal there. Quite disappointed as this was a special day:(
My wife & I had dinner there recently. Try the pasta....but it is more than an Italian restaurant. Daily special and two regular specials at $14.95 are very good and include a excellent salad bar. Other different items on the menu can add the Salad bar for only $2.95. It's reasonably priced, good service, and conveniently located downtown
The food here was great, I ordered the chicken kabob plate and my boyfriend had the burger platter. Both had great flavors and tasted nice. The restaurant overall is beautiful, I loved the lighting, the furniture and colors. Great ambiance. My problem was our waitress, she was maybe 18 or 19 and seemed to have no clue what she was doing. We ordered drinks as soon as we got there, and just never received them. When she brought the food, she had to ask again what we had ordered for drinks. That's just awful. We should have received our drinks long before the food even arrived. Is that not standard? She seemed very amateur, and extremely unprofessional overall. Not impressed. Mid meal, she asked us to pay for the beer that my boyfriend had ordered - seriously. Not kidding. We opted to pay for the entire meal at the same time, I mean, really?? Not sure if I even have a word for how unimpressed we were. Honestly, not sure if we'll go back, due to this waitress. Not to bash on how she looked, but it looked as if she just came from some kind of pep rally, stomach showing, yoga pants... Etc.. I think the owners need to re evaluate what kind of service their waitresses are providing. Maybe we'll try it again, praying we don't receive the same type of service.
I and my wife went to dine-in at this place last night. We regretted. The food was awful. Chicken (shawarma) was burnt, I had pain the whole night in my stomach. They are false advertising about credit card acceptance. After I order the food, I took out my credit card to pay and the cashier (owner) refused to take that payment. He said we accept only cash. Ill-mannered service. He didn't even let us eat until we paid, to hasty about getting paid, don't trust customers. No wonder, while we ate over there, no other customer showed up. Food was very expensive. I asked for the receipt, he refused to provide with one.
We will never ever visit again.
Very friendly staff, very creative menu, very well appointed small restaurant, and very very good food.I trend to focus on the beef or chicken shawarma and their roast potatoes and baklava for desert. The owners have really invested in the appearance of this small restaurant with lots of interest menu items, for those who like to explore. They have bottled pop which tastes better than can or plastic. I find the meat is moist and I like the style of bread used for their sandwiches.
It's sad that this is the only place available in the train station , so make sure you eat before going to meet your Train, Food was old quite tasteless unless old is a taste and had very bad heartburn a couple of hours later , not high on my list of places to eat.
Saturday, 18 May, we went for an early supper. Only one other table had guests when we arrived.
Food was good. Service was friendly, until I mentioned the bathrooms needed to be cleaned.
Full garbage cans, and filthy sinks and toilets in both the men’s' and ladies' rooms. Yuck!
Next time, I will be checking out the bathrooms before I order anything, if I ever go again.
I've been stopping here at least once a week, every summer for the past 2 years.... I believe last year it was under new ownership. The food was even better! Home made burgers, fresh gravy and the best fries I've had in the East end. Greaquantity fo rthe price. Looking forward to the new season!!!
If I could give this place zero stars, I would, but unfortunately, I am forced to give it the obligatory one star. The fiance and I went here for casual dining, hoping for good Mediterranean food, but were sorely disappointed. There was nothing redeeming about the place. The decor was mediocre at best. The service was nothing special. And worst of all, the food was terrible.
We each got a shwarma plate, the chicken was dry and too salty. There was really no chicken, just some jerky-like substance that resembled the crusty, dried carcass of some animal. The texture was definitely unlike anything I've ever had before.
The rice had an odd flavor-- it tasted greasy and like sesame oil. The "salad" was made of produce that looked like it had been sitting out for a week, and the tomatoes were mealy. The pita was straight out of a package and dry.
After eating here, we went to in-n-out to have a milkshake to cleanse our palettes of the gross meal we just had.
I enjoy my coffee and goodies. Unfortunately I noticed a whole heep of issues and troubles when I walked into the Treats at Billings Bridge.
The first thing was that the signs indicating prices for food and beverages were not correct. Weird.... Shouldnt they give me the products for the price that is displayed? The prices they charged are higher then indicated on there menu.
Then I wondered if I really wanted anything from this location as I noticed huge clumps of brown dust hanging from the ceiling. Wondering, is this in the food and drink? Probably! I was watching the dust as chunks of it fell on the floor and muffin display case.
I think I shall not eat or drink here.
Another issue that seemed rather odd was that I saw a white fire extinguisher laying on the floor and the silver pin on the counter.
What is going on here?
The four of us really enjoy coming to the Baseline location. The burritos are the best we have ever had and we were there today for lunch on the 29th March. We all agreed the burritos were delicious, but still feeling a bit hungry we decided to order the nachos.
They were by far the worst nachos ever! For a start the nachos were piled into the centre of the tray, thereby assuring that the toppings would be only on the top of the pyramid instead of spread out over nachos that were spread evenly on the tray. The process cheese was truly disgusting, a few vegetables with a blob of sour cream and a blob or quacamole on top! The chips underneath the top layer of course had nothing on them, and it was impossible to spread out the quac and sour cream.
Truly you should either remove them from the menu or vastly improve them. Also they should have gone into the oven to toast a little which they did not.
You asked for a review so this is an honest one for you to improve whilst at the same time congratulating you on your staff and the generally outstanding food you serve there.
The wife and I have made this our new spot for our nights off from the kids. The new owners have finally hit the nail on the head with this great little spot.
The food was spot on, my wife LOVES the Crab Cakes while I am currently working my way through the menu. My latest crush; the NOLA Filet Mignon, grilled perfectly and topped with crawfish and bearnaise, it was absolutely perfect.
The service was matching the food, knowledgeable and personable, Judy never seems to dissapoint us, and has a sense of humor that keeps spirits high.
Overall, a great experience I highly recommend. See for yourself, you will not be let down by these folks!
This is a small neighborhood restaurant. Please don't go so I can get in on my next visit. We made a last minute reservation and got a table. The Mista salad is delicious . The bread is delicious. We had filet mignon and Lasagna, both were cooked perfectly and delicious. The best part was that we were seated next to a regular who was friends with the owner . He made sure that we had fantastic service and were well taken care of which was very nice. If you like small, quaint family restaurants where the food is good and everyone seems happy this is the place.
