At La Piazza you will enjoy authentic Italian and gourmet dishes made from traditional recipes containing homemade pastas and fresh ingredients. To complement the dining experience, the restaurant offers a diverse collection of imported and domestic wines, beers, aperitifs, and specialty drinks. On weekends, the lounge area features retro music, live entertainment, or pay per view sporting events creating a fun, relaxing atmosphere.
Of course I had pizza, margherita, and it was good, definitely above average. The bread on the basket is perfectly made, chewy inside and crusty outside. That plus the olive oil is a great hit. The kids had lasagna and pizza, we had fish, pizza and pasta and everything was good. Very friendly service and great desserts! Great bands on the weekend and the only place in Manotick open on Sunday.
I went to La Piazza with my sister. We are "foodies" and have dined in a few of the country's top restaurants. You will not be disappointed with this restaurant! The food is OUTSTANDING! The service is excellent. We added a delicious bottle of wine to go with our meal. The server selected the perfect wines to go along with the courses. At the end of our dining experience, they sent us home with a goodie bag. Some say La Piazza is expensive but it is on par with other restaurants of this caliber. La Piazza is a must for food enthusiasts.
If you are looking for a dining experience that is different than the "usual" good restaurant in Ottawa, go to Atura. Why? In each and every dish the flavor combinations are exquisite. That's the best part. Also remarkable are the beautiful presentations, attentive service, and very flexible menu options. Like virtually all high end foodie places it is small, cozy and relatively informal. This restaurant had a great wine stock for us, we chose a robust amarone. And were treated to a complimentary Limoncello.
We will go back as we heard that they have live bands on the weekend. One in particular is a latin band that we've heard is very good.
Lovers of Italian food know authenticity when they taste it, and believe me, this stuff is real! Whether you try the Mussels and White Wine Garlic sauce, or the Tiramisu (the best I've ever eaten), you will be delighted. Small, quaint and family- owned, La Piazza is a Manotick Gem with the best patio and fantastic bands. Don't miss it!
Our family was visiting friends in the Barrhaven ara and looking for a place to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We didn't want to go into Ottawa so instead someone recommended this restaurant.
It was located about 15 minutes away from our hotel but we had seen excellent reviews. We were amazed with everything. We were served by the owner, Frank and his service was just like being in Italy. We visited Italy last summer. The food was perfect and authentic.
I should mention one of us requires a gluten-free diet and he was able to go off menu to satisfy us.
Do not miss this experience if at all possible!!!
I go to Ottawa annually on business and always eat at La Piazza at least one night. I travel alone and have had excellent service eating there as a single woman - and not purchasing big meals. The food is as wonderful as everyone says, and I've never had a problem getting reservations last minute if I eat late. The owner is always very accomodating and the restaurant is a lot of fun. Definitely worth a splurge . . . again and again
Being from Toronto we have our fair share of great restaurants, that being said I wasn't expecting something exceptional from a little place outside Ottawa. I was absolutely blown away by this restaurant though; the food is really something special.
All the dishes that we had were incredible, great portion size and amazing flavours. The smelts were wonderful and not something I'd seen anywhere before, apparently they are very popular in Italy. Ther'e these tasty little battered and fried fish in this case they were served spicy with red chilli flakes. They were gone in a hurry at our table.
The lobster ravioli was wonderful and loaded with Lobster meat, truly delicious.
The owner stopped at our table and offered us a complimentary Limoncello to end our meal, it was a lovely refreshing end to a memorable meal.
Wonderful food, excellent hospitable service, the Creme Brulee is a must to have! We had a party of twenty for a business outing, and everyone loved the food, the wine, the desserts, and the service. Very very nice.. not stuffy, just a great going-out place with a fantastic patio and great live bands on the weekend. Reservations are a must as it's really busy!
What a lovely restaurant this is, we ate here on the weekend and had one of the best meals that I've had in a very long time. The place is hidden just off the main street in Manotick, a lovely little place just outside Ottawa. There is a beautiful patio, where they had a band the night we were there, I'm unsure how often they have them but it was quite a good one that was playing that night.
We shared some appetizers, Calamari, Bruschetta and a really delightful Antipasto Platter. At the owners suggestion we enjoyed them with a lovely bottle of red wine which was really nice.
Overall, the food was great, the wine was nice and the evening was really warm; a perfect combination.
I have this picture in my mind of a little Italian cafe in Venice just off St Mark’s square where you can rub elbows with all sorts of people as you all partake in some well-kept culinary secret. Well, I doubt La Piazza is a much of a secret to locals, but I still feel like I'm in some kind of in-the-know crowd when I go eat there. The restaurant vibrant and very busy and the food is rich and satisfying. The specials are always delightful and any of the appetizers are delicious, the smelts are my favourite. The best entree - HANDS DOWN - is the homemade cannelloni and Manicotti. My husband loves to get the veal or the lamb. We never really have room for dessert, come to think of it haha! I really like their selection of wines by the glass since my husband doesn't drink wine and the idea of ordering a whole bottle to myself (while tempting...) is quite impractical. If you go, you really need to get a reservation first, especially on the weekend.
I live in the area so i have taken friends and family here many times. Without exception everyone has loved thier meal. Very well run place. Friendly servers. Prices are reasonable. Best Gnocchi ever. excellent homemade pasta; delicious entrees, wine; lovely owner; impeccable customer service and a fantastic wine list to boot. There is just too much about this restaurant that's great.
We recently attended a charity event at this restaurant that a local radio station was involved in. We had a fantastic evening, with great cuisine, great food (the calamari and the gnocchi are wonderful) and far too many libations. We're looking forward to the next event that this restaurant is supporting, Dickinson Days. Hopefully it'll be just as much fun.
La Piazza Courtyard has to be one of the best restaurants that I've dined at in a very long time. The restaurant is located in a charming little village just outside Ottawa, about a 20 minute drive from the city center. The weather yesterday was beautiful and perfect for enjoying their amazing patio, several of us went for lunch and we were hungry.
Overall the food was fantastic, they had a special of Pickerel, fried in a lovely crispy batter drizzled in Olive Oil and Garlic, I paired mine with a Mista Salad which was delicious. Some of the other dishes that were enjoyed were, the Gnocchi, Caesar Salad, and a delicious pizza.
Our service was attentive, not pretentious, the vibe of the restaurant is laid back and was a lovely place to spend a lazy afternoon at. I'd recommend the short drive, it's well worth it.
I held a business lunch for 12 here and then returned two weeks later for a quiet late dinner. Both experiences were very positive. The lunch menu has a good variety and the specials are really delicious. The dinner menu offered a wide range of choices all appealing. My friend and I chose to split a pasta dish and the service was very gracious, they brought two bowls with the half portions without hesitation. The atmosphere is upscale but not fussy. I found it tasteful and relaxing. Highly recommend!
We stopped in here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the great food and service we received! I can honestly say that this was some of the best italian food i've had in a long time, portions were plenty, service was really good. You really felt welcomed, especially when you're from out of town to begin with. thanks
My wife and I are regulars at this restaurant because they have the freshest, best tasting, Italian dishes around. We usually go on a weekend when the restaurant is a little busier because we like the lively ambience it provides. I really enjoy the specials that they usually have, if you are lucky enough to have the Osso Bucco I would highly recommend it. My wife swears by their Gnocchi and the Veal dishes - both are wonderful and she never tires of them.
I loved everything about this place. The food is so delicious and fresh. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. Try the mussels and the homemade cannelloni. This place just feels so homey and special. There were three birthdays being celebrated when we were there and everyone was having a wonderful time! Our server was the best! She made us feel like we were family. We are most definitely going back
We went to this restaurant knowing that it was highly rated, so expected the food to be good. It exceeded our expectation, both in flavor and uniqueness. What we didn't expect was all the wonderful, personal attention that we received. To start with, we got lost trying to find the place and had to call them for directions. When we arrived and were seated the owner came up and asked if we were the ones that called. He wanted to make sure who ever it was made it there safely. We asked his suggestion on what to order. He suggested a great assortment of appetizers and said he would take good care of us for the main course. WOW ~ did he ever!!! After we received our glasses of wine (full to the top, not one of those anemic glasses that look more like an accidental spill) we dove into what turned out to be one of the most enjoyable meals in memory. As if all of this special treatment wasn't enough, after most of the customers had left the owner came over to sit with us and talk for quite a while. I would highly recommend this place on the food alone, but hope that if you go, you have as great of an experience as we did!!
The food here is exceptional, the chef is amazing and knows how to cook traditional Italian fare. The manacotti and canelloni are both incredible, I look forward to having the pasta every time I go here. Great value for money, the portions are a good size and you don't leave hungry.
We tried this restaurant on the advice of my daughter who lives in the area. I have to say that the food was impeccable, the lobster ravioli that I had was delicious. My husband had the gnocchi and it was the best that he's had in a very long time. Next time we'll take our daughter so she can enjoy the food as well.
