We recently attended a charity event at this restaurant that a local radio station was involved in. We had a fantastic evening, with great cuisine, great food (the calamari and the gnocchi are wonderful) and far too many libations. We're looking forward to the next event that this restaurant is supporting, Dickinson Days. Hopefully it'll be just as much fun.
La Piazza Courtyard has to be one of the best restaurants that I've dined at in a very long time. The restaurant is located in a charming little village just outside Ottawa, about a 20 minute drive from the city center. The weather yesterday was beautiful and perfect for enjoying their amazing patio, several of us went for lunch and we were hungry.
Overall the food was fantastic, they had a special of Pickerel, fried in a lovely crispy batter drizzled in Olive Oil and Garlic, I paired mine with a Mista Salad which was delicious. Some of the other dishes that were enjoyed were, the Gnocchi, Caesar Salad, and a delicious pizza.
Our service was attentive, not pretentious, the vibe of the restaurant is laid back and was a lovely place to spend a lazy afternoon at. I'd recommend the short drive, it's well worth it.
I held a business lunch for 12 here and then returned two weeks later for a quiet late dinner. Both experiences were very positive. The lunch menu has a good variety and the specials are really delicious. The dinner menu offered a wide range of choices all appealing. My friend and I chose to split a pasta dish and the service was very gracious, they brought two bowls with the half portions without hesitation. The atmosphere is upscale but not fussy. I found it tasteful and relaxing. Highly recommend!
We love going to this local restaurant, the owner treats you like family - very welcoming and always wanting to make sure you have a wonderful time. We've been regular customers for the past two years, It's always improving and I'd swear that the food gets better every time we eat here. My favourite dish is the gnocchi, it has the lightest, slightly spicy rose sauce that pairs wonderfully with the little pasta pillows, delicioso. We can't imagine going anywhere else in Manotick for a meal, this place far outdoes all the others - on every level.
We recently hosted a charity event at this restaurant in Manotick. Everything went so well on our evening - we were very impressed with the personal service provided by all the staff at the restaurant. The food was wonderful, everything was exactly how we wanted it; hot, fresh and exceptionally tasty. The owner went out of his way to make sure that everything for our evening was perfect.
All our guests commented on how fabulous the food was and what a wonderful time they had. I'll definately use this restaurant for an event again.
My husband and I went to La Piazza last night. I've been to many Italian restaurants in Ottawa, and I'd have to say this was one of the best. We both had appetizers which were outstanding. I had a pasta dish and my husband had seafood. The food was excellent, and they have interesting menu choices. The service was impeccable. I don't think that I could say anything negative about this experience....other than I ate too much! We'll be returning to La Piazza.
Came to La Piazza on the weekend, there were four of us and we had one of the most memorable meals in a long time. The food was immaculate - traditional Italian pastas that have the most delicious, fresh sauces and stuffings. I had the pasta combination platter and I couldn't say which I preferred; manicotti, lasagna or the canelloni. They were all distinct in flavor, the lasagna was brimming with tomato, cheese and meat sauce, seasoned delicately but just enough to bring out all the flavours.
One of my friends had the rack of lamb, it was absolutely perfect with a beautiful robust demi glaze sauce and fresh market vegetables, roasted to sweet goodness.
Overall we had an excellent night and will return again.
Everything about this restaurant is wonderful, the food is fantastic, the wine list is great - not too extensive but some nice high end wines. It's always busy on the weekend so I'd suggest making a reservation early. It's well worth a visit and I'd go back again. My partner and I shared the fettuccine and steak with lobster tails, reasonably priced for a wonderful meal.
We stopped in here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the great food and service we received! I can honestly say that this was some of the best italian food i've had in a long time, portions were plenty, service was really good. You really felt welcomed, especially when you're from out of town to begin with. thanks
Excellent food and service. We had the lasagna which was very tasty, and the Mussels appetizer was one of the best I have had; everything was good; What impressed me was they had a proprietary wine from the owners family. I was surprised to find such good Italian food in the middle of Manotick. Go try it, you will not be disappointed!
The owner of La Piazza has hit a home run with his tasty menu that always has something wonderful on it. The daily specials are well thought out and seasonally inspired. The appetizers and main courses are all share-able (but you may not want to). And the desserts are definitely worth saving room for. Good wine list and great service.
Wow! From the olive oil poured for warm bread to the desserts, this restaurant was outstanding. There were three of us and there was not a complaint among us. Service was warm, friendly and efficent. The restaurant is slightly noisy, but not annoyingly so. Appetizers are appropriately sized and excellent. Smelts were excellent. Dinners are more than adequate in size. My steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare as desired. All 3 of us raved over the crispy edges, with tender center steak. The gnocchi alla maria and pasta dishes were also excellent. If you only visit Manotick once, do not miss this place.
My husband and had dinner here a couple of weeks ago. The food was excellent as was the service. The chicken parmigiana was one of the best, if not the best, we ever had. there was so much I could barely finish it, the sauce was so flavorful my husband practically licked my plate. The Rack of Lamb was also excellent. The owner came over to introduce himself. He was very helpful with our menu questions and helped us make a very hard decision, since everything sounded so good. We were happy to find this little gem and can't wait to go back.
They have the most wonderful pizza at this lovely little Italian Restaurant in Manotick. The crust is hand crafted, the pizzas are made fresh to order and loaded with the most wonderful toppings; fresh mozarella, fresh tomatoes, onions, capicola, proscuitto. Amazing in every sense of the word, we go regularly and it's always good, never lets us down.
This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you step into this place you know the experience is going to be worth it. They do have a lovely patio outside for the summer months. I would recommend this place for a special occasion with you partner or friends. The wine selection is fantastic and the food's wonderful. Enjoy!
Ate dinner here with some friends and it was delicious. The food arrived quickly and it was very hot. The service was fantastic. Attentive without being annoying. The restaurant has a very cozy feel. Would be a great spot for a romantic evening. Next time I am in town I would definitely eat there again.
A group of us visited this restaurant over the weekend, we had an absolutely delicious meal. In typical female fashion we shared a variety of dishes, gnocchi, veal, chicken and a couple of appetizers, smelts and calamari. Every dish was wonderful, flavorful and beautifully presented. The owner stopped by our table to ensure that we were enjoying our meal, which we all were. We were very impressed with his knowledge of Italian cuisine and we all thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him, he's very personable and made us feel like we were at a family dinner. We were treated to a Limoncello, on the house - delicious. All in all a nice dining experience and we all agreed to return.
My wife and I are regulars at this restaurant because they have the freshest, best tasting, Italian dishes around. We usually go on a weekend when the restaurant is a little busier because we like the lively ambience it provides. I really enjoy the specials that they usually have, if you are lucky enough to have the Osso Bucco I would highly recommend it. My wife swears by their Gnocchi and the Veal dishes - both are wonderful and she never tires of them.
I loved everything about this place. The food is so delicious and fresh. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. Try the mussels and the homemade cannelloni. This place just feels so homey and special. There were three birthdays being celebrated when we were there and everyone was having a wonderful time! Our server was the best! She made us feel like we were family. We are most definitely going back
If you enjoy a family owned, authentic italian cooking then you must go to La Piazza Courtyard. A small quaint restaurant --- that delivered big time! Clearly this is a restaurant that typically caters to "locals" (who sit at the counter) and several including the owner, Frank, asked us how we found out about the place. (Thank you TripAdvisor!!) The good time started as soon as we arrived and were served warm bread with olive oil and balsamic, and continued throughout the meal. The food did not disappoint ...meals included the Rack of Lamb - which lived up to previous reviews: OUTSTANDING, Veal Piccatta, which was delicious and wonderful Tiramisu for desert which was a perfect ending to a perfect and fun evening.
