Came here for lunch with my mom. So delicious! Had mango chicken salad. Not disappointed. Excellent tea selection. The best was finishing lunch with scones with cream and jam. Definitely recommend and will return. Very friendly owner treated to good service. Felt at home. It is a must stop place if you ever in bronte area of oakville.

I stopped in at The Tea Room yesterday, and had a great light lunch (the mango chicken wrap was incredible) and a perfect pot of tea...and of course I had to try the shortbread and a scone which I took with me in the car and naturally they were both gone by the time I arrived home! Delicious!

Unique and charming

As a financial advisor I often look for original places to meet with clients for financial reviews. Recently I discoverd a charming place in the downtown area of Oakville called the Tea Room. This unique place offers a charming atmosphere with a great selection of loose tea options combined with a selection of home made food and desserts. The loose tea method was new to me and my clients loved it. It's a nice change from the usual Starbucks or Tim Hortons. Service was great and the price is very fair.

Over all the experience is a hit with clients and I love it too!

Favourite Place for A Lunch Out

The Tea Room has long been a favourite of mine. As a tea lover, I find the selection of teas fantastic and enjoy trying a different one each time I visit. The luncheon menu offers a variety of delicious foods to choose from - a favourite is the home made soup and the turkey wrap. But always save room for dessert - they are fabulous and the scones (to die for!). More than that - the service is so friendly, its like visiting a friend's house. A wonderful place - personal favourite!

Everything I could want in a tea shop
By StriderGirl of Burlington, Ontario (1 Review)
Submitted Monday, March 25, 2013 - 1:09pm [Dine in]

Last week I took advantage of a rare child-free day to go for lunch at The Tea Room with a good friend. I'm very glad she introduced me to this little gem! The place feels a bit cramped when you first walk in, as the tables are very close together, but once we got started on our meal we didn't really notice the tight space any more. On the day we were there, the owner was running the place single-handed (and it was busy), but the service never got slow enough to be a problem. And she was very quick and obliging with requests like extra hot water in our teapots and extra jam for the scones.

The lunch menu is a pretty standard soup/sandwich/salad selection - nothing to make you go "wow," but good. I had the grilled cheese and ham sandwich, which was very tasty, although a trifle bland - it could have benefited from a dab of zesty sauce of some kind. My friend had the BLT wrap, which she said was excellent.

The tea menu is extensive, and well worth a read. I ended up choosing the Buckingham Palace Garden Party, a black tea blend that was absolutely delicious - I hadn't had it before, but I ended up drinking 2 pots of it over our 3-hour lunch! (That was another thing I appreciated, we never once felt rushed to finish our meal or clear our table, even when we lingered over our tea for an hour after dessert.)

Ahhh, yes, dessert. The best part of a tea room, and well worth making room for at this place! The homemade scones are fabulous - solid but light, with a buttery, flaky texture that still manages to stay together long enough for you to slather on the real Devon cream and strawberry preserves for the full taste experience. Mmmmm! If it weren't for the scones, I would have rated the food a 3, but they definitely bumped it up a notch. I noticed as we were leaving that they also had a selection of home-baked lemon squares and shortbread - something to try another time!

All in all, it was a lovely break from the everyday. I enjoyed the real china teacups and individual teapots with the cute little strainers for the tea leves, the white lace tablecloths, and all the locally-done paintings decorating the walls. I enjoyed the lunch. But most of all, I loved those scones.

Pizza Twirl2828 Kingsway Drive, Oakville

The thin crust pizza was good, with lots of toppings. Bigger then standard pizza sizes, good value and delivery was fast. The twirls were also good with different toppings. I usually order online through justeat.com, this time I called and the manager offered me their new promotion specials which was not on justeat standard menu. I think I will call to order from now, the manager was very helpful with my orders. I am very happy with their service, will try their smoothie next time.

Favorite lunch spot

The Tea Room is my favorite spot to take my aging and ailing mother for lunch. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The owner is always on premises and does an excellent job of making everyone feel welcome and attended to. The food is fresh and delicious, my two favorites are the Smoked Salmon Wrap and the Broccoli and Cheddar Quiche. My mother has worked her way through the 'country fare' menu, and tends to favor a delicious bowl of the soup of the day accompanied by a scone.
Our visits started with just being interested in the tea, scones and Devonshire cream, which we still find irresistible, but soon The Tea Room quickly became our favorite spot for lunch. There's every type of tea you'd want to try and a selection of delicious treats. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Worst experience ever.

My husband planned a surprise dinner for me for my birthday. Being friends with the head chef and a couple of others that work in the kitchen, special things were planned and the entire staff knew we were coming in.
I was led in blindfolded, and we were taken to our seats where I then found out where we were. It was a beautiful surprise.
My husband is a very sensitive man and was emotional when we were going due to the romantic surprise and also because the last time he was there was 40 years ago with his parents (who are no longer with us).
After being seated and welcomed by the head chef, we were told that they would not serve my husband a beer because the Maitre D stated that my husband was drunk. This is entirely untrue. My husband did not stumble, slur or behave in any manner of inebriation whatsoever. He didn't drink anything that day ahead of his planned evening for me. His only fault was being emotional and having glossy eyes from it, which is why the Maitre D would not serve him.
My husband owns a restaurant and is very aware of smart serve and how that works. We would not go to such a "high end" restaurant in a condition that would have us cut off before we even get to order. It was extremely humiliating after so much planning, and at what is supposed to be a 4 diamond restaurant.
We could not be paid to return to this establishment. I feel badly for all who helped to make this a wonderful surprise, only to have the entire evening ruined by someone who clearly should not be in the position he is in.
We were both stunned and dumbfounded by this and will let anyone and everyone know about the appalling treatment we received.

I recently went to this tea room with a couple of my girlfriends. Although the lady running it was nice, the food was only okay. It was overpriced for what we got and I wasn't fond of the dessert. The owner was there by herself, when we asked questions about the food, wasn't very informative, and didn't know how to respond. If we went back, it would just be for the tea.

Order Lamb chops...my favourite.... medium rare..yummy
Came well done...not that it would have mattered...the quality of the lamb was terrible.
Those of you who are lamb lovers will know what I mean...dry and tasteless...I've had better lamb at a food court for half the price...sorry I cannot recommend this restaurant. Next time I will drive to the Danforth!

Pizzaville2163 6th Line, Oakville
Worst Pizza Experience Ever
By Hikerguy123 of Oakville, Ontario (1 Review)
Submitted Saturday, January 7, 2012 - 12:51pm [Take-out]

This Pizzaville location is absolutely awful! My wife and I ordered two medium pizzas, both of which arrived lukewarm and soggy. Naturally, we called to complain. After much time spent on the phone, which included the operator actually hanging up on my call in error (and I had to call back again), they promised to deliver two more pizzas free of charge. While waiting, we were hungry and forced ourselves to gulp down some of their junk pizzas. When the delivery person came to the door, he had the complete and unmitigated gall to actually request that we give the original pizzas back! Not knowing Pizzaville policy yet, we gave the pizzas back and received the new ones, most of which we packed away in the fridge. (By the way, the new pizzas were soggy too). I called Pizzaville back and was informed that asking for the defective pizzas back was not their policy, and that they would have a regional manager call me the next business day. That call never came. So, I have concluded that the chain (and most certainly the Oakville location) does not care at all about proper customer service, nor do they care at all about producing a quality product. Please avoid Pizzaville at all costs and spend your hard-earned dollars elsewhere for a much better quality pizza at a much better price!!

Went down to this place where there's always a lineup in the summer and on weekends in the winter. Now we know why! The gelato and chocolates are to die for! The affagatos are a thrill to eat. Espresso covered gelato....That's gelato and espresso in 1.....A one in a million place!! European style! European charm! Lovely! And most importantly, as an Oakviller....Oakvillian???....I no longer have to go downtown for a European dessert!!

Consistently Good

We've been ordering from Bronte Chinese Cuisine for many years and the quality of the food is usually consistent. The staff is always friendly. You don't need to wait very long for takeout delivery. Menu items are generous in portion.

Although their menu is somewhat limited in more authentic dishes, it is sufficient for your basic Chinese dishes. Importantly, they do not add add MSG in their dishes and the ingredients are always fresh.

Overall, you get great value and consistency in quality. An excellent choice for a neighbourhood restaurant.

Unfair Pricing

Generally, as in any Chinese restaurants, deep fried wonton consists of a wrapped meat dumpling deep fried crisp and served with sweet and sour sauce. Not in the case at Cynthia Restaurant. Our order contained only the wonton wrap without the meat filling. This menu item is over-priced!

Our delivery bill included a delivery charge of $7 because our total order was under $50. This minumum order amount is the highest as compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. Also, a $1 fuel surcharge was added to our bill which wasn't explained to us at the time of ordering. It is a mystery what the $7 delivery charge covers.

Caution! If you are unsure of the ingredients of a menu item, it's best to ask the specifics. If you are ordering a delivery, make sure there is no unexplained surcharges.

Surprise Discovery in Oakville

I was in Oakville visiting a friend and stopped by Hopedale Mall to go to the bank. I noticed this independent café and decided to give it a try, since I'm a huge coffee junkie. I was very pleasantly surprised! The barista (a very polite chap named Sam) pulled me an excellent shot of espresso, with an even, lasting crema and great flavour. This really surprised me as I was not expecting the coffee at this mall in Oakville to be as good as where I live in Little Italy in Toronto!

The selection of food seemed quite good, with freshly made sandwiches and soups to go. I tried a baklava with my espresso and found it to be top-notch.

Truly a gem of a find, and so surprising to do so in Oakville! I fully intend to go there every time I'm in that nect of the woods.

I came to this nice little cafe with my husband and two kids for lunch recently and was very surprised at the quality of the food (coffee, sandwich, and soup) and service that we received. The man behind the counter was very attentive and even recommended that we buy ice cream cones for our kids. They loved it, and I did too, considering I am a very big fan of soft serve.

I am now a regular customer for their coffee and my kids always ask for the soft serve cones.

i don't usually write reviews, but this place is great. The coffee is very good and reasonably priced. The food is wonderful. They serve grilled panini sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and early dinner. Most of the sweet treats are made in-house and are excellent. Don't expect donuts or huge muffins. the menu is for a more refined taste. They also do catering for offices...i haven't done this yet, but will soon.
