Veneto Pizza serves pizza, pasta, salads, wraps and wings.
I tried Veneto based on positive reviews. The pizza is great; very light crust and not doughy at all. My girlfriend and I planned to eat in, but after getting our own menus and waiting a while for any service we decided to take some pies to go. Further, there is much better deals on the take-out menu that aren't available for dining in. I wasn't too impressed with the service, as we would have had to go up to the till to order regardless of our intentions. It was partly oversight on our part, but our Caesar salad was covered in bacon bits, despite ordering two vegetarian pizzas. I know, complaining about bacon on anything is sacrilegious, but my vegetarian girlfriend didn't get any. Regardless, the pizza was great and Veneto will be on my list when I want pizza take-out or delivery.
So it's Friday and we wanted take out...thought we'd try a pizza place we had never tried before. Skimming through the DineHere reviews for pizza joints in North Vancouver, the Veneto had decent reviews and was a short drive so we clicked on the website link. The menu looked like fairly standard pizza. pasta, wraps, etc. so we browsed the specialty pizzas. We picked a Hot Stuff (Mexican) and a Chicken Pesto and called them for takeout. Wait was 40 minutes and they were fresh out of the oven when we picked them up.
The Mexican was mildly spicey (for us) with banana peppers, copicolla and lots of mozza cheese. The Chicken Pesto was fairly bland and we couldn't find any trace of chicken...either it was a very fine dice, waved over the top, or they forgot it. Pesto didn't have much basil-garlic kick either. Cheese is the typical bland mozza you get from two-for-one.
They appear to be using Luigi's pre-made crusts...we've bought them ourselves and recognized the perfect machine made shape and texture. They are fine but we prefer a thin crispy crust but that's not on the menu.
If you're ordering for a horde of hungry teenagers or young adults watching a game, you'll appreciate the pizza and great price value but if you're looking for a fancy gourmet pie, you'll be disappointed.
I went to this place with Mrs. C mostly because I was amazed to see a pizza place in the Persian ghetto. We wandered in and sure enough, the Veneto was run by a couple of old Italian guys.
The place was a little run down, but it looked like the real deal. We ordered a pizza with ham, bacon and pineapple, and we accompanied it with a Caesar salad and some beer. The salad was excellent, and the pizza was pretty good too. The beer was from a bottle. The only downside was that the table was so tiny the manager put the pizza platter on the seat of a chair. Not so hygienic. When he saw me gasp in horror, he put it on the table and apologized, but the damage was done.
All in all a good meal despite the shortcomings. Viva Italia!
I came to this restaurant because I wanted some place to eat-in a good pizza, and as I found many positive reviews on the web, I decided to bring the whole family there.
The result was much better than expected !!!
The chef is very friendly, and the pizzas are just awesome !!!
Definitely a place to recommend, and as a famous guy said :
"I'LL BE BACK !"
Our pizzas and wraps were fresh and tasty. They were also delivered steamy hot. I think a smaller establishment like Veneto takes a little more time to personalize your order. The service was as well as we expected.Good location and really clean,to me everything was perfect

I am always on the lookout for a good pizza place to try. Veneto certainly was a nice surprise to find. The food was good, nice crust and sauce and fresh toppings. The people were very nice. Well worth a try if you are in the neighbourhood and looking for a good pizza.
I've been going to this restaurant for several years now and there's one thing I've noticed. They take care of their customers... I've never had any problem with them delivering, ordering good food, or any sort of attitude. I've even ordered at 2am on a friday night and they've delivered. There aren't too many places you can say that about.
About the restaurant: It's a small place that seats approx 15 people, but given the area and amount of traffic for the restaurant, it suits it well. Often enough it feels like christmas in there based on the lighting and the ambience. A nice little place to get away to for an hour or so for a meal.
The service is great too, and they take care to remember what you've asked for and not mess up your orders.
The food is great, and I especially like the pizzas. They have thick, crunch crusts, and plenty of toppings and cheese. I enjoy the hot wings (a little expensive but some of the best I've had anywhere), salads, and pastas as well.
If you're walking down lonsdale, you should definitely stop in for a meal one time and try it out for yourself.
All in all, a great place with great food.
