Tried it on a weeknight and started with the prawn appy which was very good as well as the somosas - nice and not thick as some places. Tried a lamb dish which was very good and you can add naan, rice and salad for a small price. Prices in the low teens at dinner and overall value is good. Service was excellent as the owner was out and described all of the dishes. Others tried the butter chicken which was good. Nice and clean inside, would come again to try the lunch specials.

Superb Indian restaurant. Tried it out for the first time with friends the other day & was well impressed. It seems hard to find a decent curry house in Canada, whereas they are ten a penny in the UK. The food, of course, bares little resemblance to that of high street sellers in India, the dishes largely being an English corruption of the traditional regional variations.

The food was excellent. I opted for the vindaloo (or "vindloo" as it's listed on the menu) at $12, & was well impressed. The quality surpassed many a vindaloo I've had in both the UK & Goa (it's origin). There was a prefect mix of spiced heat, without blowing your head off & without masking out the other more delicate favours - & I like extremely hot curries !

For an additional $4.99 you can get a side order of rice, roti (chipati), dahl etc.

A great selection of dishes from which to choose. Nice to see hints of southern Indian cuisine on the menu.

There's bottled Cobra or Kingfisher for authenticity (but of course they're brewed in the UK & not India these days). There were plenty of bottled beers from which to choose. However, they could have done with a couple of draught (real ale) beers on tap.

The sweets were traditional, sweet, colourful & tasty.

Service was friend & efficient.

The place was quiet (but it was a Wednesday night) & lacking of sub-continent decor. But I'm glad to see they've not opted for tabled dining in booths & have avoided the ubiquitous flock wallpaper !

Got to go back & try something else - some of which I've never heard.

This is definitely one of the best Indian restaurant on North Shore. The use of spices are very distinctive and superbly aromatic. Great ambiance. Great service. Especially I like the fact it offers different menu items than other Indian restaurants. We tried Dum Murgh (Almond & Ghee based chicken curry) and Saag Wala Ghost (lamb curry with spinach). Both were fabulous. We will certainly go back.

Vegetarian friendly as usual, but also vegan friendly. Finally a great Indian restaurant on the North Shore. The Vegetable Samosas were okay, but the Fruit Chaat (spicy fruit salad) was excellent. We had the Baingan Bharta (eggplant) and Chana Methi which were both delicious. The Biryani Rice was good with very good Butter Sauce ordered on the side. (Too bad they don't use fresh carrots.) The Coconut Mushroom Portobello was okay, not great. The Tamarind Sauce and Mint Chutney were wonderful. Overall, very high quality. The service was very good and the manager friendly. The decor is elegant but comfortable. It's a plus to be able to order online and get a 10% discount.

I have been a regular customer at Vedas. Although I have tried several other East Indian restaurants, some of which were certainly good, I can honestly say that none compares to Vedas. The quality and texture of the food is simply incredible, and the service solid, as the staff treat their customers like family and friends. Although I've never experienced a poor dish at Vedas, I highly recommend the butter chicken, lamb do pyaza, lamb rum-e-dilfarosh, coconut mushrom protoello. The next time you're in the mood for curry, try Vedas. I assure you will not be disappointned.
