Queen's Cross is a pub featuring a large patio, lots of televisions and regular live entertainment.
I came here for the first time in many years to watch a hockey game and it was pretty close to the way I remembered it. I had some nachos and a couple pints and overall it was good for pub food.
They have lots of televisions but unfortunately in the section we were sitting, one of the televisions was not HD so it was about 2 or 3 seconds behind. This meant you would hear the goal but it hadn't happened yet if you had the misfortune of looking at the delayed non-HD television. This is definitely something they need to fix.
The service was prompt and the ambiance is pretty standard for a pub.
I'd been walking/hiking all day. I was very tired, hungry, thirsty. So I stopped at the first place that I could sit down. Ordered a hamburger with salad.
Not asked what I was drinking, so water will do.
The burger was 4 ounces of dry meat in a very old dry bun. The bun fell apart it was that old. I took a slice of the meat to see if it was as dry as it looked. It was; no flavour except for salt. I think it was a pre made patty that they froze. Or a cooked patty that they reheated in a pan. What ever it was, it was not worth the $12.00. That is twelve dollars after tax, so it makes this a twenty four dollar hockey puck.
I told my waitress; her reply, "I'm sorry" Really(?)
No, "I'm sorry, can I replace that with something else?" No, I'll speak with the chef and manager to see why, ( besides being cheep asses who don't care) and is there anything else that you would like instead?" Nope, just suck it up ass, eat what we give you, and don't forget to pay the full amount with a 20% tip. It's no longer going to let it slide. I'm no longer going to tip a waitress when the experience, attitude, meal are poor. (And please don't think that the waitress cannot be responsible for the food). I'm sure if everyone stopped tipping for bad attitude and food, they'll soon hold a knife to the bxxxx of the cooks for not getting tipped because of the quality of the food.
And to top it off, as I was leaving she wished me a good night.........Dxxx! I'm still not sure how she knew my name is Dxxx...Hay!; it's not Dxxx
