With over 320 locations in Canada, Pizza Hut offers a varied menu of pizza, pasta, wings for pick up or delivery.
I have been to this PH location occasionally, but I prefer the one on 16th. The place is clean enough, and the pizza quality is okay, but their service has been consistently bad. For some reason the counter staff here have been rude to me on every visit.
On the last occasion I visited they put the wrong toppings on my pizza. Last year they lost a takeout order I made. How is that even possible?
With so many other locations, I will never, ever, come back to this one.
So I go here for the pizza and refillable pop. I wouldn't go near anything else on the menu such as pasta or wings so I don't really let them affect the ratings I give here too much.
The pan pizza is what it's all about. The crust is tasty, a bit greasy (a good thing), yet light and not too chewy. The rest of the pizza is pretty good too, albeit slapped together factory style. Toppings aren't ladled on thick but that's fine as that doesn't determine the taste of a pizza.
We sometimes get an edge or a 4 for all but it's not as good as a pan pizza. A ways back they had a limited time special pizza where the crust was 2 layers sandwiched between a layer of cheese. It was pure cheesy greasy goodness, best pizza I've ever had. I really wish they would bring it back.
I've worked in several pizza joints, been a pizza chef, tried deep dish in Chicago and still I think the pan pizza is near the top for taste. I'm sure there is something better out there somewhere I just haven't found it yet.
They also serve a weekday lunch pizza buffet for a low price. You can really fill up quickly on tasty pizza for cheap.
I'd say the service is the biggest issue with this location. Most of the waitresses seem disinterested in providing good service most of the time. There is one waitress there (the asian one) who is the complete opposite and is very good (5 stars for her).
The actual restaurant ambience layout is fine, reminds you of those old pizza diners you don't see many of now. The biggest detraction I usually notice is some of the fellow customers. It just seems to attract a strange variety of people that I'd rather not dine next to (complainers, young goofs, etc.).
After ordering from pretty much every single other pizza place in the area (all of which are good or at least decent in their own way), we decided to order from Pizza Hut on Marine Dr for a change. What a mistake. Pizza was extremely soggy - crust was basically wet.. kind of like trying to eat a wet dish sponge - we threw 80% of it into the garbage, because we could not eat it. We also ordered wings, which were even more disgusting - flavourless, and also soggy. Does this place soak all of their food in dishwater before they send it out? These also went in the garbage, because they were not edible. This place is not even cheap. Basically, we threw $40 worth of their disgusting so-called food into the trash. What a waste. Stay AWAY from this place!! Many, many, many better options available to you.
This Pizza Hut is a good source for good deals and yummy pizzas. I Highly recommend it for cheese loving kids or people. One time, I bought a medium cheese pizza and a pepsi for only 5.99 (With a deal of course!) ! Ambiance is good, very warm and is kinda worth my money. Service is good too! I will go back to it someday!
