I dropped in for lunch today and really enjoyed it. I work in the area and until now there have been very few options for a healthy solid meal. I had the stuffed veg with potatoes and it was great.
The meal was a good size and was quite filling. I will go back again.
I have had the displeasure of eating here, the place looks great, nice artwork on the walls, but the lady behind the counter (owner) was lecturing me on what I should be eating and what I need to change in my diet/lifestyle to be 'healthier'. If I had asked her for her opinion I wouldn't complain, but all I wanted was a healthy lunch. She then told me that drinking while eating was 'so bad' for me.(Don't sell drinks then) Again with the unsolicited advice... I was talked into trying the Vegan Nut cheese, and it tasted fine, something in the cheese made my tongue split. Almost like acid burn/peel. (and it took days to heal) Its too bad that the food was just mediocre, I was looking forward to having a healthy place to get my lunch/coffee. And even the next time I went in to get a salad, being a Vegan place you would think their salads would be amazing, but I can get the same salad anywhere else. Tomato, cucumber, a few nuts and dried cranberry. BORING! I will give it one more try, if they aren't living up to their name 'Gourmet Vegan' then I can honestly say I tried. Good luck Nut Tree Cafe. I honestly hope you get your game together.
