Three of hit the Narrows for dinner on a Thursday night. I hadn't been there since it was the old Maplewood. We got there at 5pm so it was still happy hour with $3 sleeves of lager or pale ale. We had planned to sit downstairs near the fireplace but the Canucks were playing back east and all the big screens were blasting the game so we retreated upstairs to a slightly quieter table in the "nightclub" part of the pub where we could talk.
We ordered a spicy chorizo pizza which was nicely done, a calamari which was fine but would be better if they used a crispy batter instead of breading, and a pulled pork sandwich which was a bit bland but the fries that came with it were very good. The single server did her best to make sure we were well served but she was obviously a bit overworked by the time we finished up. Overall with tip the tab was $70 including 5 sleeves of pale ale. Next time we go there, we'll check the sports schedule first, hit happy hour for the beer deal, and share a few pizzas.
