Great Fish and Chips

This place in the food fair at Lonsdale Quay has been around for a long time and always provides great fish and chips. You do not expect much in way of ambience from a food fair, but on a nice day the view of the harbour is super. The fish is lightly battered unlike other places and it helps make the fish nice and crispy. The fresh lemon and tarter sauce is a nice touch.

Darn tasty fish & chips!

My boyfriend and I went for an early supper today, and each ordered the one piece cod and chips and 2 drinks. The bill was less than $20. Three teenage boys were running the shop and made our fish to order. We had to wait a while for our food, but this was due to the volume of customers and freshly frying the fish. I could see the nearby food court vendors sadly watching Montgomery's steady stream of customers.

The fish was light and fried perfectly. We ate every last little fry morsel. Less greasy and heavy than any other fish & chips place I've tried in the lower mainland. Keep up the good work, boys!

A Must

Have been enjoying the fish & chips @ Montgomerys since it opened. The best I have had and have giving up trying to beat the food and service. On a sunny days nothing beats sitting by the ocean having fish & chips and viewing the skyline of Vancouver. I enjoy the Halibut the most, the nuggets are my favorite. Also a must to try is the prawns and scallops, I am getting hungry writing this, I think I am going to dinner. Try it and review.

Why is this owner in business??????

I ordered the two piece cod and chips. I was hoping to get something good, but should of known better. The 18 yr old drop out cooking the food and red neck owner did not inspire me.

The fish was terrible - so bad that a frozen store bought version would have been better. The oil was off and the fish was old. Every bite tasted like old oil. For almost $13 I am expecting something better

The chips fried in the same rancid oil was just as bad.

I just do not undertand why the owner would make such bad food. I guess he sells to the tourist in this location and knows he will never see them again.

This place was the only food place not busy for lunch - I should have taken the hint.
