We wanted to get an ice cream cake for a special birthday boy who always says he loves the ice cream from the MSC so we went on line to check out their offerings. They have an on-line ordering option to get a cake if you place an order at least 24hrs in advance so we ordered a cake with a birthday message Friday night for pickup on Sunday afternoon. A small cake looked about right for the 6 of us so we placed the order on-line and got a confirmation email soon after.
The email says the store will call to confirm our order and if we didn't hear from them, to give the store a call. We didn't get a call back, so Sunday morning we called the store and the girl on the phone said there was no order on file. Yikes! So I asked if they at least had the type of cake we wanted and she said they had 2 in the freezer.
So off we go to get the cake and it turns out they didn't have the type of cake we wanted after all (mis-labelled or something like that). So we selected a strawberry cheesecake from the few small cakes they had left and they wrote a birthday message on it right there. So far, not impressed with the on-line ordering. The store seems to be manned by teenagers and I'm not going to give them a hard time for something best brought to the attention of a manager or the head office so we gathered up the cake and headed home.
We were very impressed with the cake...everyone loved it and it was just right for 6 people. Next time though, I'll skip the on-line ordering and call the store directly and pick it up a day in advance to be sure.
Now where's that head office email address...........
