Recently and group of friends I went for a walk in the forest across from the suspension bridge. We are from Arizona and were mesmerized by the astounding beauty of the lush rain forest.
We had built up quite an appetite after our walk and were looking forward to lunch at the Café’
We entered the most beautiful cathedral- like café’. Twenty foot open beam ceiling with a roaring stone fire place floor to ceiling .Upon entering we were immediately greeted by a very friendly hostess. We all ordered coffee and were treated to a delight full show of how they brew every cup from fresh ground beans in “siphon brewers”. You must see and taste the coffee to believe it. None of us have ever seen this method or tasted better coffee.
We ordered fish tacos, cheese burgers and crepes. Coming from Arizona we all have had the opportunity to try fish tacos from the numerous Mexican restaurants in southern Arizona .No one has even come close to the taste sensation of these incredible tacos. Apparently the chef (‘Lilly) is from Mexico and was taught by her grandmother how to make amazing sauces. The cheese burger was served on a fresh bun with light sauce with nicely melted cheese. The burger meat was juicy and delicious.
The crepes are made in the open for everyone to watch. My friend had a butter chicken crepe with a wonderful sauce.
I was very much impressed with the friendly service and the absolutely delicious food. I would highly recommend this place. It will always be a fond memory of our trip to Vancouver. Thank you Vancouver. Thank you Lynn Canyon Café’. Thank you Chef Lilly.
I saw the web page for this place and it looked pretty good, but I have to say it was not as expected. As the previous reviewer mentioned the menu was totally different. Now it is just burgers, hotdogs, and coffees. Man was it expensive too! The restaurant itself has seen better days. It was incredibly dirty, every surface was damaged, and the w/c was horrendous. The staff seemed helpful enough, but it was hard to overcome the fact that this place is a dump.
As for the food, it was nothing special. They serve the items on paper in bamboo steamer bottoms, but it didn't make it taste any better. I could have had better eats in McD's.
Avoid if you have any standards.
After a hike. we saw this cafe and needed to sit down and have some good food.
The waitress was sweet. The burgers were very good. Juicy and tasty. The salad dressing was even delicious.
The iced drinks were a bit watery though. I had an Chai Frappe and hubby had a frozen hot chocolate. They looked good. but were too icy or something.
The service was quick and friendly.
The menu on the website was not the menu we had today. Much different actually.
Not sure why..
But I would eat there again for sure!
