LoLo is a casually inspired wine bar with a good selection of craft beers. Live music nights on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Situated in the bustling Lower Lonsdale district, Lolo offers a bright and cheery environment and an intimate patio.
My husband and I visited Lolo based on what one of our friends said. We both had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Both the food and service were great. The chicken liver and the fig flat bread are really tasty.
We saw a piano there and were told that music is played on the weekends. We're looking forward to our next visit, hopefully this time a Saturday so we can also hear the piano.
I went their for my aniversary last week. We started off with an olive plate that was very small. We moved on to an uneventful cheese plate that my local deli could do a better job on. Then we had some of the meats. I found the wine list to be limited and the server was rather ignortant when it came to a discussion of proper pairings. I was shocked when we got the bill for almost $100 for what was a shallow and padantic meal. I know that I should have listened to friends when they warned me about this place. I suspect that some of the other reviews are from staff/owners. Some of them sound like a commerical. There are a lot of better options in the area.

On a positive note, they have a nice selection of beers. I really enjoyed the cherry lambic. The service was slow and rude, we ordered olives and a cheese plate. The olives were brought out first and the cheese plate took over half an hour to arrive. We had finished our bottle of wine and asked about the delay, she only shrugged. The food was decent but nothing to write home about. I can put together plates of deli meats and cheeses at home. It was way over priced, I'd understand if it was on Robson but it is freakin lower lonsdale. Not worth it. I think that location is cursed.
Great Tapas Bar, with friendly service and a good wine list. Also they have great imported beers to choose from. Our server was very nice and funny. We dined there on a Thursday night and it was quite busy....so it was a bit slow to get our food, but not bothersome as we really enjoyed the piano singer while we sipped our drinks. A refreshing place to hang out in lower lonsdale we will be back very soon!!
Brought a "foodie" friend here recently. The three of us shared a number of plates, great food, very good music on a Saturday night and a warm, inviting atmosphere. While some may not get the tapas concept in place at LoLo, a number of these plates provide a broad range of tastes and textures. We look forward to going back when the next opportunity arises. Very nice selection of cocktails, wine by the glass and beers. Well done, Mr. Moller!
Wow, I have often driven by this place and thought of going in!Finally went in last night and what a great little restaurant. Our server was delightful and funny.. food was great. Small plates are more filling then we realized and they have great warm sandwhiches and salad. There was also a young lady playing the mini grand piano and her music was fantastic...actually we will be coming in a lot more because it is so rare to find entertainment like that on the North Shore. Prices are a little steep but in the end with the atmosphere well worth it. A real Gem for Lower Lonsdale!!!!
I really enjoyed this concept of cheese, meats, and flatbreads as the dishes were all perfect for sharing. There was live music playing and not so loud as to impact our intimate conversation. The food was very good too, excellent presentations and I believe that all the accompaniments were made at the restaurant. The pulled pork flatbread was spicy and wonderful. I didn't see the bill but my date said it was reasonable for what we had.Hopefully we can come back again.
We went to Lolo's and left hungry.
They are not sure of the atmosphere they are trying to achieve — With a pianist playing soft music and tables that are set up for a dinner, we were disappointed to learn that they only serve cheese and crackers, and a couple other bread plates. Very mediocre food.
If they are trying to be a tapas bar, they need to rearrange the layout ie: more high tables, couches etc and have a larger selection and variety of menu items.
If they are trying to achieve fine dining, they need real meals!
This place is one of my new favourite hangouts. I wasn't sure what to expect the first time I went. I was worried that the portions wouldn't be big enough considering that they served small plates, but my friends and I were pleasantly surprised as we all left very full. The menu is definitely more catered to sharing and there is a wide variety. I personally love their flatbreads. And my husband likes the fact that they serve craft beers.
